Quality Movie Version Hammer!!!

I just can't believe one of the major prop replica companies isn't going to make the movie version Mjolnir. Are the only available movie hammers the toy versions from Hasbro?

Factory X, Diamond Select and Museum Replicas have made Mjolnirs in the past. Are one of these not doing the movie hammer? What about Sideshow?

Could it be a licensing issue? If not, seems to me that this would be a GOLDMINE for some company right now.

I also find this baffling. The larger of the 2 toy versions would need LOTS of work to even be HALFWAY acceptable. Just for starters, the color's all wrong. :thumbsdown

Well... sort of! The "adult sized" toy version has a head made of what appears to be hollow rubber. So you could hit somebody with it and it'll just kinda squish.

No, but it can be found in retail stores EVERYWHERE, Target and Wal-Mart pretty much always have them in my area. I could take pics with my cell phone next time I'm in one.

Just for starters, the head of the hammer, which should be a metallic silver, is instead a dark metallic gray, practically as dark as the handle. :thumbsdown

Haven't seen that one in stores yet. Just at a glance, in those photos, it's not as dark as the toy, but it still looks too dark to me. Guess we'll have to wait and see the final product when it hits stores.

Yes, that and the Armor of Asgard Sword ARE made of "harmless" Nerf foam. They're also CHILD-SIZED. That hammer is AT MOST half the size of the movie prop, and I believe it may actually be even smaller than that, maybe more like a third of the size.

I found a lot of sites for the adult version of this hammer (The one I posted a pic of) for less than $17.99 as well. If this hammer is anything like the Iron Man helmet photos Disguise released then it should look almost exactly like this.

I had to stop at Wal*Mart today to pick-up a couple last minute things for Easter, so I took a couple pics of the large, electronic toy Mjolnir with my cell phone camera. I'll post them tomorrow.
