QMX Enterprise revealed!

One pic I saw taken on the floor at Comic Con still seems to show a bit of a nacelle issue with them dragging. Others seem to make it out that there's no problem at all. It looks awesome though! I bet this thing will be at least $3000.00. That's my 2 cents. If I was going to get this, I would go through Sideshow since they do Flexpay to break up payments. May be they'll do 12 month financing!

i get all that, but it just seems that sometimes u guys don't give any one a break! I mean it is entertainment, not engineering. Yeah, i know the star wars guys are pretty picky too, but again, this is created as entertainment. I guess I just love the entertainment aspects and am very happy with even my MR pieces. I think the QMX thing looks awesome. IMO

Well.......World of prop & replica collecting !!!

I agree with you : I'm not a Trekkie but I liked the movie and I liked the ship. QMX is making a great job with that E and the idea of providing some options is really stunning !! (not free options but made by great artisans)
I hope it will worth the money.

The model looks wonderful but I have the same problem with this that I had with the MR TOS Enterprse model. Neither is "studio scale". In this case no physical model existed. QMX picked a size that looked good to them. That's cool but it's not a copy of a studio model.

I asked at CC and they said "hopefuly closer to $2k than $3K but they are still working out the features vs the price. Thay aslo said it was being made completely in the USA by a "movie prop company". "Very limited run, "around 500." I think we're all going to find out why MR went to China. 150% more cost...

I'll go download my pictures.

What a fantastic looking ship! I really do love the re-design. So much nicer than the old enterprises, in my opinion.

I only wish I had the money to spend, but if I did, I'd have no place to put it. I mean, really, almost 3 feet in length seems like a bit much to me.

Who let this guy in? :lol

No worries mate, just giving you a hard time. Though it is rare to see anyone around here asking for model ships to be smaller, let alone liking a newer version more than an original.

To each his own; and to be more specific, I really do like the new Enterprise. I understand these companies need to make money but we'll never get a KIT of this thing if you jerks keep shelling out loot for the finished pieces.

Now where did I put that extra 3k? Oh, right.:cry

unless they add some amazing bracing inside the structure, sagging nacelles is so going to be an issue, but then its inherent in the design, long nacelle which is attached at one end. simple gravity is going to play its part.

at least the TMP version is more balanced in that respect and never has that issue.

"JJ wanted us to make the Enterprise into a Hot Rod"

For some reason, this quote changed my mind about the whole thing.
