I was surprised that nobody else had decided to make these cool little props and I wanted a couple for my Marvel collection so I modelled the prop in Solidworks and had 2 printed in Ultra Fine Detail plastic through Shapeways.
The prints came out really nice and clean with all of the detail from my model which I was really pleased about.
A quick rub over with a 1000 grit sandpaper, a coat of primer, a coat of satin black paint and two coats of silver, let the paints cure for a few days and then I detailed the centre with a red tint.
I have a blue version on the bench, I just need to get some clear blue tint from the model shop this week.
