Hello all
Trying to start a scratchbuild project and had a few questions for the pulse rifle experts out there. Im trying to find out how long the actual gun is, does anyone have dimensions. Also im trying to go cheap as possible here. Ive seen zida airsoft spas guns on ebay real cheap. How much difference is there between this cage vs the real thing? Would it throw off the look of the gun? Ive been to wan obi jedis site and he has some nice cad drawings of the rifle but im not sure about his dimensions. Im assuming it in inches but not sure. From other plans ive found online it seems the shroud length is around 19 inches. Is this right? seems big to me but I dont have one in front of me to go by. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks

Prop,

Asking for dimensions...is dangerous.
Are you SURE they are measuring what and where you asked them too?

No.

If your gonna do a scratch build, You need to start with SOMETHING. Borrow a friends MARUI, or go to a GUN show and measure a real thompson.

If you cant find one, GOOGLE the blue prints for a real Thompson.
Once you have a solid reference, refer to pics and go for it.

If thats too hard, then odds are you wouldn't be able to build one anyway.

Sadly, no one here is probably willing to sit and spoon feed you measures.
Its Harsh. Its Real.
Its reality.

No need to thank me for the TOUGH love.

Its Free.

Not really sure how to respond to that so Ill just say thanks for your information and I will continue on in my quest.

If you´re planning to do you PR for cheap, I might have something for you...

Have a vacformed shroud that needs heavy reworking, a softair SPAS pump and resin grip and maybe even some other parts!? I´d recommend one of the cheap Thompson TM knockoff´s as the base...saves you a ton of time and you might be lucky to find a used/ damaged one on ebay.
And yes, the softair SPAS IS smaller than the real deal, but I can´t say how much :unsure

I myself would love to help you, but I don't know that much about the Pulse Rifle, so I can't.

I'm glad to see that the RPF is as welcoming as usual to new people. :rolleyes

You might want to start by getting an existing replica before taking on a scratch build. The 'spulse rifle' replica from Spatcave is relatively inexpensive and, IMO, a piece of fine quality.

Not only will you have an awesome resin PR, but a great reference for scratch building your own.

I'm using an AirSoft Thompson as the base for my own, and it's been relatively economical so far. OdiWan is correct in that you should keep an eye on the online AirSoft vendors for damaged or defective units. It'll save you a bit of cash, and in most cases the damage to the base gun isn't anything that will affect your completed PR negatively (IE: cracked stock or foregrip, or a jam in the barrel or breech).

I can get you the following parts:

- softair SPAS cage (only about 1 cm shorter than the real deal, same width/ thickness etc.)!
- resin pump-grip
- resin Thompson grip
- vacformed -white- shroud (needs buildup around the edges, since the vacuum during the pull wasn´t sufficient)
or alternatively:
- vacformed -black- shroud, pretrimmed. Also has some issues with fitting etc., but a lot better than the white one.

Give me your email adress and I´ll send you some pics.
