PTP: Destiny Titan

Hello to all,

I have finally had time to play Destiny. I had Pre - ordered it and never got a chance to start playing it with my crazy work schedule and other things going on. I have grown fond of the Titan class, so naturally i have started to do some research and plan out a build for a Titan suit. With there being so many different armors you can get and build upon, it is going to be difficult to find just one to make. I am going to be doing a lot of planing on this on. I would like to make it for Pax East for 2015. Even though it looks like i have a lot of time until then to make it, i really don't. Work + Life = PartTimeProps. I am still up in the air on weather or not im going to make it from foam or cardboard. For now im just going to be doing a lot of research and posting pictures i find. I am also going to be scratch building most of it, unless i can find files other people have.

I did recently acquire a 3d printer, so i have found some weapons i will be printing once i get it up and running like it should. I have a solidoodle 4, and my opinion....IT SUCKS. should have just saved for a few more months and got something better. Long story short, i have had to do a lot more to get it up and running then i should have had to do for the price among other things. So with out further ramblings.....

I love the reference pics! Where did you get these? I've been trying to find ref pics of the Iron Banner Regalia (especially the back) and have come up with squat. I would love to get my mitts on whatever references there are for any and all of the armor from this set.

I will see what i can find. Do you already have one? i know how to get you the pictures if you do.

There is an Destiny app you can download for your phone. Inside it allows you to view your character and rotate him around to see the model. If you already have the banner, then you can download the app and view your character on your phone, then just take screen shots of it. That's what i did.

As for the other images, i troll the web for a majority of my day at work, lol

Sadly, no. I fell about 300 points short of Rank 3 when it closed. Next time they do IB I'll be getting it for sure though.

As for the app.. I have the Official Destiny app on my android already and the quality of the imaging for the armor isn't very good. Is it another app you know of?

I don't know of any other app. that's the app I used to get the pics I have above. I will see what I can dig up tonight. I think I might have found some pics of that banner. Does it have a tree like image on the back of it? it is also white I think.

Found another site that allows you to enter your gamertag for either PS4 or Xbox. Then it will let you preview your shaders on your character in real time. You can also rotate your character around, This can be good for getting reference images. Here is the link:

Also, I have been trying to replicate what you did on my app and am just not seeing any option that lets me look at each piece of gear individually and rotate it in order to grab screenshots.

EDIT:

Awesome, thank you! I figured out that the Iron Banner Regalia (IB) set of titan armor is (surprise, surprise) just repaints of Knight armor.

For whoever is interested, here's what's what:

Helm - Knight Type 3 (IB helm doesn't have greeblies on face screen, and has added 'boxes" on sides of helm)
Chest - Knight Type 1
Gauntlets - Knight Type 2
Legs - Knight Type 2

Found a cool tool that Autodesk makes called 123D Catch. It allows you to take several pictures of an object and then it will create a 3d model from it. To get a good model you need about 70 pics, at all different heights, and distances. I have tried it out on the images i can get from the Destiny DB. If it works like it should, i should be able to post some 3d models of the guns and armor from taking pictures with screen shots in the 3d viewer of those pieces on that site.

Finished fine tuning my 3d printer last night. I did a test print of the hunters knife. there are a few imperfections in it, but nothing a little TLC wont fix. Printed it to be 14 inches long. Got the handle done last night. Tonight I will print the top half of the knife and post pictures. Here is the test print of the knife at a 5 inch length.

Dang it TD0013, I wanted to do the iron banner suit first!! You have the same problem I had, the back, but I've found some cool reference too. You hit the mother lode with that link, I can't get it to come up, but if you can post the back, I would be forever in your debt. Here's what I found so far:

The Iron banner 2.0 just launched the other day, i was hoping that i could get the chest piece, then i was going to take some pictures of the back on my phone, but they only have boots and gauntlets this time around, or at least that is all they had today.
