I get quite a kick out of my Oakley ruby iridium X-Metals, that Cyclops wore in the first X-Men movie. It was a happy day when they started offering ruby replacement lenses, because I wear them nearly every day, and the lenses were getting pretty banged up.

I understand the ruby ones are really spendy these days as they are quite rare. I have some plasma/ice Juliets and damn are they awesome. I've worn mine since 2000 and STILL love them (though I need to get new lenses). Hands down the best sunglasses I've ever owned.

How about making this list really user friendly.. Not only post the Shades you like / Want,.. But if possible... Where to get them..

Now that would be a Great list..

Stay hard,
Snoose

Terminator Gargoyles

Terminator-2 Persols forgot the model # :lol

Miami Vice Season 3 Persols Model 69218

yea, thats totally what i had in mind....

No sunglasses thread would be complete without a mention of the Matrix films. The best replicas are from Blinde Design (sadly defunct, I think) who created the actual prop glasses.
Their titanium replicas (below) were best in terms of looks and quality. Stainless steel versions were also released by another company but weren't quite as nice.

From the Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions, Blinde produced:

"Neo" (Black) (Model #4002-1)
"Neo" (Amber) (Model #4002-2)
"Morpheus" (Model #4005-1)
"Trinity" (Model #4001-1)
"Niobe" (Model #4007-1)
"Smith" (Model #4040-1)
"Agent" (Black) (Model #4004-1)
"Agent" (Amber) (Model #4004-2)
"Twins" (Black) (Model #4003-1)
"Twins" (Gunmetal) (Model #4003-3)

These are almost impossible to find nowadays but turn up on Ebay from time to time.

Edit - when I say they turn up on Ebay, I mean the genuine, official Blinde Design models above, not the el cheapo versions, which are best avoided.

:cool

X-men 2 was a different set of Oakleys. Juliets in the first movie, Pennys in the second. I had a pair of both, but sold the Juliets.

Mission Impossible 2 (I think) has Oakley Romeos. I have those too. :D

I'm a bit of an Oakley junkie...

The Romeos are still findable on ebay but getting rarer, mostly you see the Romeo IIs which are not the same at all. The Juliets and Pennys with the ruby lenses are around, but pricey. They're both now going for more than the original sale price.

I love Oakley sunglasses. Because of their high prices, I make sure I get them for everyday wear and costuming, so i can make the most of them. Extra points if they were in a movie.

I can't get enough of my Oakley Ruby Juliets. I don't really have the face for them, but the side-blinders fix that and make me look very futuristic. Yes I made the side-blinders for the Juliet and Penny.

I also have the MI:2 Oakley Romeo, but those need some big-time maintenance. I will have to ship them for service, soon.

I, also, own a pair of Oakley plate, and soon will be getting Oil rig.
Then, there are those Over-the-top Oakleys used in plenty of movies, like Spiderman. Those never cough-on. They were just too over the top. I should get a job at oakley.

I used to have the Terminator 1 Gargoyles, but those were too out of style to wear, so I sold them. Didn't care to keep them as collectibles.

I recomend you stay away from the cheap Ebay matrix sunglasses. Unless you only want them for display, these will bend out of shape, quick, and the lenses will snap out easy.

Are Gargoyles still in business? I haven't seen any in any of the mall stores in ages.

I've had my Juliets for about five years, they're the plasmas, I have some emerald lenses in them right now. Have some fire iridium and ruby lenses too. They're showing a little wear but are holding up fine! I wouldn't mind having some black Pennys too.

Incidentally, Clint Eastwood wore the same style Gargoyle sunglasses while playing Harry Callahan in The Dead Pool that Schwarzenegger wore in The Terminator, so that one pair of sunglasses serves a dual purpose as a prop/wardrobe item. ;)

I have prescription lenses in my Blade II Oakley 4's :) I wanted to do the Blade I Black Flys but the lenses were too curved.
