Prop Money

So looking at various paper props, I have become quite interested in the various monies created for tv shows and movies. I thought it would be neat to start a paper prop thread dealing specifically with fantasy currency. So post up your pics and scans of any and all prop money

I agree with starting a thread just for money, there are alot of creative people out there who have created some wonderful banknotes. Having a single thread would be a great idea.

I'll start it off, here's a couple that I have found.

I found these on a site belonging to a fellow named Darren Sims, I'm not sure if he created them himself or if he found them. If it wasn't and anyone knows who did, let me know and I can edit the info.

I agree as well!! Good thinkin' Jedi Prop Maker13:thumbsup

Hey Bear, I've seen those bills you posted several times in different threads and other forums. I think they were made by a guy named Darran Sims. I stumbled on them a while back an his photobucket site http://s122.photobucket.com/albums/o270/DarranSims/?start=all

I'm just providing this info to give proper credit for work whenever possible! Glad you posted 'em cause they are really nice non-canon Serenity bills!!

I have numerous other Firefly/Serenity bills I could post, but since most of them came from folks on this forum, I'll refrain from posting and wait for them to do it. Maybe someday I'll get around to making my own bills to contribute.:confused

anyway, can't wait to see what gets posted here!!

I think your right on those firefly bills, I found them on a blog and the name does sound familiar. That's why I always state that I found them and didn't make them. When I post anything that someone else did and I know who they are, I definately give them credit.

That 1000 note is definitely not his, it's mine. I see no way of contacting him to have him take it down, but I don't appreciate him putting it up there without my permission. Had he asked I would have said ok, but he didn't.

Hey dr_s,

Damn, I thought so!! After I posted I got to thinkin that the 1000 credit note looked like yours (nice, by the way). I was going to double check, but it was late and I figured I'd do it this morning! But, you beat me to it. I'm very sorry I erroneously credited him with it!:(:redface. I will edit the post and remove the direct link to the bill!

I hope you plan to post your bills here for all to enjoy!?!?!?

Bear - I noticed that you wrote they were 'found' bills! Kudos for your integrity!! I thought I'd post the guy's name for added clarity. I'm pretty sure the $1 and $10 bills are his, but if not, I apologize (again) to the creator for erroneous attribution!:redface.

Really sorry for the confusion everyone!!

Hey dr_s

It's a good thing you mentioned this, I was going to post up the $1000 bill. Sorry if I caused any problems. Hopefully it was just a slip-up on his part.

keelhauler no need to apologize, you did nothing wrong. I don't mean to sound like an orgre, I just never told him (that I know of) that he was allowed to post my files.

Here is a front and back of a 1000 Nuyen note I did for "Shadowrun."I got inspired when someone else here posted a nuyen note during the whole "cyberpunk" thread craze. His was a vetical design, while mine is the more traditional, horizontal one. I used dimensions of a real Japanee note circa late 1800's for reference.
Still think this would be a great universe to play around in for a feature film trilogy.

Nice job on the Nuyen note. I love Shadowrun, and always wondered if anyone had ever done props for it.

I wonder if there would be enough interest to start a Shadowrun prop thread.:cool

Thanks for the kudos. I have a lot of the old source books if anyone wants to tackle something in particular. FWIW, a lot of the designs that are in the running thread started by Ramiel could very easily fit into the Shadowrun world.

I've had this forever. Not the best but it prints up okay. Someone may be able to clean it up a bit.
