Presenting my Hot Toys Hall of Armor

This is large project I have been working on for a while.

The 1/6 Hot Toys Hall of Armor bays normally form a radius when you interconnect them from the factory.

There was no way I could have displayed 13 bays on top of our entertainment cabinet unless I modified them to sit in a straight line.

This was an aggravating process because the wires that interconnect everything are very thin and fragile.

I quickly learned that I had to hot glue the circuit boards and all of the soldered contacts as soon as I took them apart to prevent the thin wires from breaking off.

Then I cut the tops bottoms and backs on my miter saw and table saw

The walls use 3 AA batteries each and it would be pain to keep them all fresh so I hardwired them as well. I just spliced them into the main unit power wire with the twist method and then applied hot glue to the splice to insulate and secure it

Once that was done I attached the wall to the rest of the bay with screws, this made the connection semi permanent but it’s not like I could every sell these.

To keep the weight and length reasonable I decided to do the 13 bay display in 3 sections, a left and right 4 bay unit with a center 5 bay unit.

I use three 4.5 volt converters to power the units and they are plugged into a z-wave outlet that is part of my SmartHome system so I can control it with my smart phone.

Awesome work, David! I've resisted buying any of the Iron Man figures because I know, once I start, I won't be able to stop.

Very nice display!

Wiser then me! I had this great idea to collect all the suits..... then IM3 came out. Oops.

Great job Boba Debt, I think I'd be terrified to cut into any of my bases but it looks fantastic.

Thanks for the kind comments.

I was scared at first but once I did 5 I knew the left and right 4 bay units would be easy

The best part is that I only paid $604 shipped for the 7 pack that I used to finish this which was a steal

BUT then I sold the left over bay, walls, holograms and acrylic panels and almost paid for it.

If I every sell the rest of the Hologram sets that I have I will have paid for the entire 7 pack

That does seem lie a lot but 7 packs normally sell for high $700-$800 dollars with $100 -$150 shipping, so in retrospect I got a deal.

Normally I would not dip into my savings to buy something like this but Kitt egged me on and I bid an won it. The very next day someone bought a gun I had been trying to sell and it almost covered the cost.

I like when stuff like that happens.

Cool nice when thing balance out.. :) Looks great... My wife is not so supportive says there dust collectors lmao :D

This one worked out twice. Sold the gun to replace the savings I borrowed, then I sold the extra HOA parts and was able to get a gun I wanted to get once I the gun I wanted to sell :)

Looks Great Boba :) Nice work, I particularly like the lighting. :)
