Premium Format Boba Fett Repaint - Need Help

I know I am a little late to the game, but I got a Premium Format Sideshow Fett for Christmas and while a lot of the detailing is really good, the hard parts desperately need a repaint and the soft parts could us a bit of weathering.

I simply don't have the skillset for this kind of work and since this is one of my first scale models, I don't know where to turn or what to expect to pay for such work.

I have made a few mods already to increase the accuracy of the piece and would like to make a few more but wouldn't want to do so unless I could have the pieces repainted. Any suggestions or tips for where I could find an artist capable of such work would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Art, you should see if Natty has any more of his 1/4 scale helmets available for this piece. Really looks nice once completed!
What kind of mods are you looking at having done? PM me if you like.

Eric

There's a great site called "The Dented Helmet", where you might be able to find help with Fett. The head guy over there is a jerk though, so don't ask any stupid questions!:)

I hated my Gentle Giant bust back in the day, and when I repainted it, I actually gave it simple wash of a few colors here and there. Other areas required a full repaint. BUT, it really dulled it down and made it just right. I think they call it "dot filtering" now in the trde mags, but either way, best of luck.

It looks like a killer figure!

I have heard the exact same thing about that guy! I will be sure to steer clear!

I would LOVE to see that as a STICKY at TDH!! Too funny..

Guess I'm not up that much on BF, but I am wondering why he's got the ESB rangefinder on the ROTJ helmet? :lol

speaking of modifying a Pf Fett, does anyone have the link to the guy who replaced the arms on his PF Fett and made him posable?

Damn, I wish I had saved it. ;-(

You mean the black polaroid lens on the bottom?? I can't even tell from that pic...

Yep. The helmet has the ROTJ paintjob, but the ROTJ RF was flat faced acrylic with 3 green horizontal lines. The ESB RF had the square black lens frame with an actual convex "lens" in it...

Yeah, that was my PF Fett. :) Had a lot of fun modifying him.
Not originally my idea, though. A really talented guy over on statueforum did it with his and posted a how-to over there. I just followed his example.

EDIT: The statueforum member is McHaleyArt.

Only pointing out the obvious, I agree that the stock paint job on the helmet is most similar to the Jedi helmet in keeping with the rest of the suit, but it has a lot of exhibit-only scratches not seen in the movie and with the yellowish-orange stripes of the Empire helmet. Maybe someone in China was confused between the SE and Original Trilogy. The Jedi stripes go more toward red-orange, and there are more of them.
