That camera angle is an archetype of the predator and perfectly acceptable as natural behavior in the act itself, not time repeating itself outside the 4th wall. If they keep on doing it like AVP R, I will cringe, but a few things like that are nice to see. Saying things like "get to the choppah" are what you want to avoid.
I really hope that net we see in the trailer isn't the extent of it, the way the netgun worked in predator2 was an awesome crazy weapon, pinning you to the wall with metal strings that tighten and cut into you. The way they turned it into just a collapsing bag in AVP was so dull.
I don't mind the tusks on the mask at all, it's perfectly within the realm of a tribal hunter who covers himself in bones and ornamentation. The Elder from predator had stuff hanging all over his belt and chest. I can understand a person feeling rejection because it's a new design, but to go as far to say it's ergonomically unsound for the predator is a bit of a stretch, if they were obnoxiously larger, I could start to see it. The new predator breed does indeed have some hardcore claws, it's very different than what we've seen.
Darkwolf, your mastery over shadow and lighting there is wading into the realm of a true,... master.
there's gonna be, similarities, hopefully not like AVP:R, but he (RR) said they took certain kinds of shots and music cues from the original, but i think there's a lot more goin on to be worried about that.
and i think the net trap we see is only just a trap plain and simple, the way the first net gun worked was by having solid walls to pin them to, without them (i.e. round trees) much more chance of one of those barbs to not stick, i would guess, plus a trap is much less personal, and anyone can end up in one.
anyhow, i'm hopin they're smart enough to not add to many "inside jokes" it's a predator movie, we get it, takes place after the first one, got it! but luckily there is no "chopper" to get to, i don't think, so that one is at least, out.
now guys, had a question, since this is a predator sequel and not some spin off, would anyone be mad if they had some actual P1 music in the score? (not exact, updated, but still) not that i have any idea if it's in there or not, i was just thinkin that it's possible, and wondered if any of you would take that as
bad, it is a predator movie.
