couldnt find a thread about it so im posting it here since its movie related.

this years Wonderfest is themed "Predator" and will have the director of the movie there as well as the special effects artists. I believe we have 3 preds and 2 aliens coming to the event.
If anyone is within driving distance to Louisville,KY it might be a good time to come down.

Alright Guys, Check It Out!

Fans around the world are invited to chat with Austin-based filmmaker Robert Rodriguez about the upcoming motion picture PREDATORS on Thursday, March 18th, 2010, the same day that the PREDATORS trailer will be revealed online.

The live event will take place online at http://www.ustream.tv/predatorsmovie

Broadcasting from his Austin, Texas headquarters, Robert Rodriguez will be online three times during the day to accommodate fans from different time zones:

*Central Daylight Savings Time

7 AM CDT* - Thursday, March 18th ( 12 PM London/1 PM Paris)

2 PM CDT - Thursday March 18th (1 PM Mexico City/4 PM Sao Paulo)

9 PM CDT - Friday, March 19th ( 11 AM Tokyo/1 PM Sydney)
http://www.thefancarpet.com/NewsPage.aspx?n_id=738

This may be an opportunity to tell him about the Lair ( if he is not aware of us already)
It may also be a chance to get him to see if some of the great costumes on this board can find their way to the premier

I really really hope this wont suck as much as AVP and AVPR did,I think those movies gave a bad name to the whole Predator franchise

Im a bit worried about the design of the new super predators as well

Im keeping my fingers crossed

The trailer comes out tomorrow guys! :)

Is it just me or does the skull on the right look like one of the P2 skulls?
sneakpeak46.jpg

maybe not that skull specifically but its too hard to tell. Interesting tho :)

i've had a read of some of the pages and personally i can't wait for this it looks ******* awesome i hope theres some awesome bloody trophy kills :) , and fishburns character having a Predator mask he deffinetly must of stolen it off a dead Predator only way he could of gotten his hands on it unless he found it in the jungle or he killed one but i think thats highly unlikely oh well we'll find out come July

So, I assume this will bring in a mega influx of noobs, prats, chisslers, chavs, and BS artists to the Lair. (Granted, I am a noob myself, with nothing to show for it yet...)
I didn't join till this January, but I imagine when AVP/AVPR came out, this place was madness.

Maybe a Google search for "Predators Costuming" should redirect to this:

Predators Costuming

HA.

Surely the more members we have the better? the more pred fans that come on here to voice their opinion means more chance of more films being made and influenced by the lair etc, we have mods to keep out the chavs etc, and a fine job they do :)

I dunno man... The schism in the fanbase can get pretty ugly. I noticed it in 2001 with the AVP2 game, there was one camp who, even to this date and after Rebellion's latest attempt, hold AVP-Gold to be almighty, while the others, those who saw AVP was as flawed as AVP2 but favored the latter for having a better story, a better setting and a more decent MP-component (again, with it's flaws), said the best game would be both games combined.

Most old fans left around that time, but the exodus was catalysed with the advent of AVP, the 2004 flick... It meant an instant flood of 15 year olds (no offence, I was 15 when I entered the scene after ages of lurking, and believed all those Predator-fanpages who claimed the whole society thing), who adored the AVP aesthetics, the story and concept, opposed to the old fans who grew up loving Alien and Predator seperately, only seeing it work in the Peter Briggs/Dark Horse Comic version.

Needles to say, Predators can cause just that.
