Predator reboot

Hey guys. Thinking of majoring in film direction when i go back to school and i want to get some ideas from yall. One of my goals when i graduate is to reboot the franchise by reimagining the films. I think thats the phrase im looking for. I want to get yalls input of story ideas things yall want to see or some things you dont want to see. I personally, if im able to do it, is i loved the bigger predators, made them seem more intimidating. More character development. More back story of the predator. And so on. Whats yalls opinions? Plus if script development and pre planning is an assignment yall will be helping me get ahead of it. ;)

I personally just want a more sequel like film than reimagining/rebooting the franchise. I'd love to see more story on the Predator(s), but it might be tough to do as it would take away from the mystery/fear of the unknown part of the creature. Which brings me to my next part. In my opinion the franchise could use another injection of horror. The Predator shouldn't just be intimidating, but feared. The other movies don't really bring that to the table. The characters are generally able to trudge from one area to the next without much worry until someone gets killed. The tension dissipates shortly after, until they March into the next death/trap. Until the last man is standing. So anything less predictable would also be highly appreciated lol.

So when you say horror and more tension what would you want the predator to do? Something like tease them or something? Like purposely miss a shot to make the prey think the have a chance until they fall into a trap?

I think the movie Predators took a step in the right direction when the predators used Cuchillo's(Danny Trejo) body and teased them as the corpse "called" for help :)

Dont you think it wouldget a little crampped in there? But still... Interesting. So i went throufh a couple old threads on here and got thinking. Would it be something to see a whole clan going on a hunt. And one of the younglings gets defeated and activates the wrist bomb and leaves it and eacapes. But from what i understand the predator has to go to and ifbnot it goes agaisnt the code. At the end you see the youngling geta punished and possibly killed. Just a thought

Can anyone remember a rumour that was around befor predators was made that the next film was going to be set in the gulf war ? I always thought that was a good idea

I don't remember hearing about that rumor, does sound interesting though.

Seeing an entire clan hunt, doesn't appeal to me personally as that just seems messy and would take away from the horror element.I would say 3 predators should be the max. Regarding the whole "youngling" thing, feels like it has more of an avp ring to it as it reveales their culture, and would make the predator more of a character than a monster.

And as far as getting cramped, that depends on the layout of the ship, origin of the ship. Additionally in AVPR we see wolf punch through a few meters of concrete to escape the sewers, using some sort of "power-punch-glove". Then there's also the invisibility, which again would aid in traversing a ship undetected, but just a thought.

Like the idea of putting us with the technology of space travel as in Alien

But don't know if you should add the aliens cause predators are still scary without them. But put us and the predator's skills to the test against each other. But I think my idea sounds too closely related to Predators.
