PREDATOR/PREDATOR 2 Action Figures from NECA

If they jacked up the price maybe 5 bucks extra, then I'd be willing to pay that, but I don't want to have to buy 3 bodies just to have all the heads, I think that sucks and NECA needs to get with the program.

NECA is with the program...the program of making money.
People forget that they are a business.

If they don't make money...we don't get new figures.

It's a smart business decision on their part to release 3 different versions.

5% added production cost, 20% added income per figure... That is, if people settled on a single figure rather than having the same three times.

guys, i have a confession, i have every single god-damned wolf figure neca released and that's fine with me :( more preds on my unopened pred wall and this figure, i would totally buy all three of the damn versions PLUS one to open, i just meant with the, it's 18 scale, but yes the aliens were 21-22 inches so the preds should be close to that if they were built in that scale (at least the P1 PLEASE!!) but i would want that one to have interchangeable heads, that's all i cant have 3 of them bitches layin around!! but these figures look sooooo awesome!! and i think a great sign of incredibly cool things to come i truly don't think that at least the P1 has ever been so well portrayed, just in so many ways that all other smaller scale versions of this creature were lacking.

Sabes, that's true, but look at it like this: I would pay extra for the body and three heads. However, since they're released one head per body, I'm only going to buy one example, and pass on the others.

So, instead of making the return on one body + 3 heads @ let's say 20 dollars, they're only making the return on one body/head @ 10 dollars. Numbers are just for example, but you get what I mean.

Are people going to whore out and buy them regardless, of course. ...but that's just my .02. Power to the consumers.

The problem you're going to have with that is you're going to cut out some of your consumer base by raising the price of the figure.

Yes, there are alot of us adult collectors out there who can afford a $20 figure...much harder for the little kid who has to try and talk his/her mom into it.
Or the teenage collector who has to decide between $20 in gas or a $20 figure.

NECA has found a happy medium.

And again, it's all about bringing in the dollars.
NECA knows that there are alot of us who are going to get all 3 versions of the Predator 1 (and the Predator 2 as they'll do the same thing).
So, that's alot more money in their pocket.

On the plus side, it benefits us in the future as it may increase the Alien/Predator figure budget for NECA.
Thus allowing them to make an Alien3 figure or our much desired Queen Alien.

True, but NECA's market is vastly the teen/adult collector, I mean either way I'm going to buy one example of each character, but it would be great if they offered three heads to one body or had some kind of program where people could just purchase the extra heads, minus cost of the body. Just seems like a waste to me.

...but also consider the kid who wants all three 'heads' and has to convince his parents to buy him all three bodies at 10 dollars a pop, 30 bucks, as opposed to 20 bucks for a body and all three heads.

Personally, the hardest part for me to deal with is.......which one do I get?!?!?! lol I can't wait to see the P2 figure as well.

I wonder if they'd have the balls to do a 'true to scale' in the 12 inch scale, which is to say scaled to faithful size when compared to the Predators at 9 inches or 12 inches. That would be so great. so...so great.

WOW my eyes just bulged out of there head I want them ALL
this is really great news for me cause I never got the chance to get mcfarlanes P1
he did but I only got his P2 version I'm getting the P1 version for sure this look way cooler than mcfarlanes way better

I’ve been collecting mcfarlane and neca for a good twelve years now. Hell, since they started out and if I know anything it’s action figures . . . .

These are the twelve inch maquettes cast from the original sculpts and painted for the conventions. They’ll inevitably be in a nine inch scale so don’t expect this kind of quality right off the bat.

I had personally hoped for an eighteen inch scale figure myself but they made comments about a year ago a large scale Wolf would never happen due to the production cost of each release. I doubt that has changed but I wouldn’t put it past them if they release a twelve inch figure or two.

In a press release earlier this month they stated that they are only doing figures from P1, P2, and Predators. So no plans for AVP. They also stated that there would be no human figures produced for the line anytime soon.

Hope that helps with some of the speculation.

Someone needs to cover the Lost Hunters.
Remember HT's attempt? They released the Borg Predator along with the Boar mask, since Borg didn't really have a bio in the film. I always thought Hot Toys should continue their releases of the more distictive Lost Hunters by making a Snake Predator with the Gort mask, and by making a Ram Predator with the Ram mask ('cause this one has a distictive mask AND skin patternation). Make figures of the Preds that stand out, and if a particular design doesn't have a bio, simply supply one from a less-identifiable Pred. Love the idea, plus it gives some good ground for customization.

Of course, HT hasn't said much about this, so maybe we'll get our fix from NECA. PLEASE!! GIVE ME A REASON TO EXPAND MY SHELF SPACE!!

these two are really... really attracive, need to start keeping money now ..:D .wounder NECA will release other predators like celtic, wolf & others..?

They only have the rights to P1, P2, and the new Predators. In recent years Neca likes doing things on the cheap. Seeing as how most Preds have the same body type we'll see P2 next. He's the exact same build as the other two just different paint and accessories. Then it'll go from there I'm sure . . .

The Predator figures are being produced with individual dreads, they won't be lumped or clumped like the Wolf sculpt.

The problem with NECA producing so many alternative heads is a shame, but it's a necessary "evil". The dude who owns NECA and pays the bills is really not a big fan of this stuff like we are. He got involved from the beginning as a business man. He funds a staff of fans like us, which is awesome, there is a constant balance of sorts between the two forces trying to push it one way or the other. Of course, if the individual creators had the say, we would be getting the ULTIMATE predator figure at an 18 inch scale with all the interchangeable goodies. But realistically that's not going to happen. To say they need to grow balls or man up, is really a disservice to the guys there pushing to get these things made. You have ethics, that's fine, but if you want to see more of these badass creatures made available at these prices, you're going to have to swallow your pride and get with reality.

The predator figure is looking more and more awesome, I really have high hopes for the final production piece. I think Wolf turned out incredibly well, beyond the visible seam on his face connected it to the head sculpt but I can fix that/overlook that sort of thing.
