PREDATOR/PREDATOR 2 Action Figures from NECA

Think the AVP-R figures are long finished with. And they wouldn't start w/ AVP... perhaps... Oh, I don't even know. Seems they're on a vendetta to beat McF... and they're DOING IT!

I agree, these look totally better then the Mc.F Predator figures by a long shot.

I'm a little concerned articulation-wise. But on the plus side, the lack of joints make them look like miniatures of the full costumes! As long as they have as much poseability as the Wolf, I'm happy.

Here's some info that's been released about these figs...

"Predators

* NECA will be making several different Predators based on the aptly titled film. (Unfortunatelly no samples were revealed since details about the film have not yet been released)

Predator

* There will be three different versions of the original Predator figure (masked, unmasked with open mandibles and unmasked with closed mandibles)
These figures will feature a ball-jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, ankles, knees plus a V crotch and swivel thighs. Release Date: TBA

Predator 2

* The Elder Predator figure was also on display but featured a non-finalized head sculpt. This figure will feature the same articulation as the original Predator but features alternate weapons and accesories. Release Date: TBA"

Good lord, that is some splendid articulation -- even better than that of the Wolf! IT'S LIKE CHRISTMAS! Still wish I knew if they'd do 9" versions (they'd better!)... On a cheerier note, I think the current Elder head sculpt is fine. Great, actually.

A little turned off by the fact that they'll do multiple P1s (2 words: interchangeable heads), I mean come on! I bought the masked and unmasked Wolf only due to different accessories, but I really hope they don't take that road here. This is the only area in which I lose respect for NECA. Almost makes me feel as if I should sell one of my Wolves to maintain a proper balance. It's getting ridiculous, from a display perspective. I can see myself buying all of 'em, but not every single variant!

EDIT:

Okay, forgot how toy displays work. They put up something huge, but the final thing is scaled down. Awesome; I'm gettin' excellent companions for my Aliens. But yeah, that head thing still pisses me off.

****, more room I'm going to have to make. I'm having to buy three P1's with different heads. I would figure the heads would be included with one figure. Hummm... Guess this is how they are going to make there money. They know that this figure will sell so, I guess more faces the better.

I do hope the paint jobs on the P1 are as good as the prototypes in the pictures here. I would like to see a more detailed paint job on the elders body though, very pale...

dude, i swear to god if neca jumps out and does even a few of the lost hunters to go with these i'll probably freak out, damn i can't believe it, NECA YOU ROCK!!! JUST DON'T SLACK ON THE PAINT JOBS WHEN YOU START PUMPIN THESE OUT AND WE'LL ALL LOVE YOU FOREVER!!! oh, and 6,9, 12 inch sizes i don't care, you make em, i'll almost definately by every one i see!

I see people talk about other sizes, but is there any confirmation for that? Or is just hopefull speculation?
don't think so, just the fact that these are, by comparison, so much bigger than the other neca preds in the background, that people are assuming these are 12 in, somebody said they always make em big first, but i have a hard time believing they'd even be able to put that much detail into the accessories, straps, nets, etc. in a smaller scale. i imagine at least on the smaller ones that the netting will have to be sculpted on instead of seperate, but who knows, i'm hopin at least a 12in for the P1, elder, and P2 and knowing neca they won't shy from having several versions, sizes, etc.

Nah, most definitely these'll start out as being 8" or 9" (like the Aliens). I remember when McF showed off their prototype Scar Predator, he was HUGE! The final thing... not so much. NECA will probably make an 18" P1 at best, but it's more than likely for everything to start out in NECA's standard scale.

Hello,

Those are totally kickass.I have said this about the Spawn toys before,it is as though you don't even need a model anymore.Where can you get these?

Daren

Holy **** those are awesome!
I knew Neca would make Pred1 and Pred2 figures! so glad they did! cuz the Mcfarlane ones are so expensive now
THANKS NECA

I was checking around for first pics yesturday and am completely swamped with them today! These look superb, they must be show "2-ups" to show off the detail but with touches like the Elder's tuck ring I'm very happy. Seems like there hasn't been much new lately and then Toy Fair comes around...

what would be just absolutely AWESOME! is if they made a 9" and an 18" of at least the first one, that would have INTERCHANGEABLE HEADS!! NECA, IF YOU'RE LISTENING!! if i had an 18" (or more, the neca alien was closer to 22 inches!!!!!) of a P1 figure that looked that good?!?! holy ****! i would be uncontrollably happy about a damn toy... ya.

The man's got a point. Wish they made Lost Hunters like that. Have a ginormous collection of 18" Gorts, Boars, Borgs, and Snakes... that'd be super-duper .

Yea but too bad NECA is going to be shipping the P1 figure with one head per figure, instead of interchangeable heads. WACK.

If they jacked up the price maybe 5 bucks extra, then I'd be willing to pay that, but I don't want to have to buy 3 bodies just to have all the heads, I think that sucks and NECA needs to get with the program.
