Water emergence Predator?.. Come on isn't this a little to easy money. I understand the Kenner remakes from a certain point of vieuw, but this is getting rediculous I think. I used to be the kind of collector who always wanted a 100% complete series, but crap like this has made it so easy to become a collector that only buys what he likes.
I understand that reusing an old mold is cheaper, than making new molds for the rest of Dutch his team, but I am pretty sure that having bad sales is worse.

I agree that the Kenner remakes are a nice homage but the colours are a bit too garish for today's more "realistic" style figures. They sort of stick out like a sore thumb next to NECA's already brilliant line of darker, gritty preds. Personally though I will most likely pick them up for parts for more custom preds since I customise and repaint every pred I own. The red one in particular has a very interesting head I'd like to use, and the middle one's shoulder pads, and the blue one's shins look cool too.
The Dutch's and the water P1 don't really interest me though, I'm really looking forward to the AvP1 and 2 re-releases.
I might pick up the trophy wall but I have some mixed feelings about it: from what I can see it's a sort of loyalty reward for those collectors who have picked up every 2-pack so far and will have the full set of skulls to display. For those of us with limited funds (e.g. me ) or who only buy what we like (also me), we'll have a wall with some bits missing. Now, on the other side of this, if NECA were to release all of the skulls as a separate pack or with the wall itself, then everyone who HAS picked up everything will be penalised... not sure how I feel about this one.

Wow that looks gay. The old Kenner crap reproduced by NECA? Wow...thats sad. They MUST be making a buttload of money on the previous series to be continuing them like this. They're doing AVP as well? More gayness...

Well... one thing is for sure, the ones who do hate these "Kenner homage" figures... REALLY-HATES-THEM !!!
Like I have stated though, it's a toss up for me simply because they are re-making a line to fit today's "standards" in the figure area. I also believe if they had made enough money off of the others... why not completely re-tool them and make it a full on "re-imagining" of the Kenner line? (hey, it's what Hollywood does, right?).
I will more than likely buy one of each, keep them on their cards and bubble, and put them away with all the other figures I have no room for. As far as using customizing accessories off of them...

The Kenner figures were cartoonized goofy trinkets that were pathetic examples of everything that Predator represents. There was no creativity and very little paint used. True, this was back in the 80's and toys WERE cheap and pathetic compared to NECA now...but they were and still are ridiculous.
Look at these and tell me they aren't cheap and sad. Very little paint and sad designs:
Cast this one in red plastic and then put black and yellow paint on the chest?!
Slap a big massive cannon on instead of a shoulder canon and re-use the same helmet from the other one?!
Hey, lets put HAIR on this one and make it look more human!!
Clan leader with long Doc Oc things hanging off his head?!
These pictures speak for themselves...for NECA to redo them means they just want to milk the cash cow and keep people interested in buying them. Predator stuff has been selling well for the past few years, so they are just going to keep churning out retarded Predators until the popularity wears off...

Really ? What did you guys expect ? You want them to sculpt brand new everything ? Are you kidding ? Has anyone noticed how many times they have milked the hell out of the p1 mold ? Well, go take a look. Collecting the Kenner Preds as a kid was great. Why ? Because they were PREDATOR Toys, and no one else made them back then except Kenner. Now, some of them look goofy, yes, but, with NECA's updates, they look good to me. Its a nice fresh take on something instead of seeing the same p1, p2, dutch crap over and over and over... it also shows they are willing to branch out, which gives me hope for predators such as Broken Tusk, Top Knot, Light Stepper, the concrete jungle pred scarface, the Enforcer and Bad Blood preds, etc... come on guys, lighten up. They already said they would be doing more after the AVP crap... I could care less about that series, except for Wolf and the Elder... the other 3 are poor excuses for Predators, letting themselves get their asses handed to them...

I got to say that I like the kenner homage. Yes the kenner figures are goofy, but I loved having them as a kid. One of my best memories as a child is my dad playing avp with me and using the kenner toys. I am getting tired of the p1 being reused so many freaking times, but it sells. Hell I didnt get the masked city hunter from the current series because it is the same as the one from the 2 pack. I will be picking up the kenner figures simpley as a shout out to my inner child. This is just my take on those. As far as the wall is concerned, thats freaking sweet!!! The problem I will have is that I dont open my figures, unless I feel the packaging doesnt do them justice. The only ones I have had that issue with has been the hot toy preds. I will probably get the wall anyway, but that is also just my take on it. I cant wait for the avp figures as I was never able to get the mcfarlane ones. Depending on how the rerelease of wolf looks will depend on if I get it. I have every freaking version that they previously released so Im pretty stocked on wolf preds.

I would say that based on the notion that NECA has stated that the diorama is a special gift for getting all the Predators with the skulls. I'm getting the Trophy case mainly because I do have all of them, but the bloody one and the new coming out with series 9. I already pre-ordered Water Emergence Predator to get the skull as a plus mainly because I do like the figure regardless.
