Predator MEGA CANNON Plasma caster.

Now that my Ceremonial Dagger is ready to mold I need another project to play around with when I need a break. When the standard plasma caster just will not cut it ! Introducing the MEGA CANNON. This is the weapon of choice for some serious damage. Triple barrels and converts from shoulder mount to a rifle.

It's been a while since I have updated this thread, so here it goes.

Main and side barrel construction.

The outer "wing" assembly slides back and forth on the barrel

Here is the main barrel assembly all roughed in sprayed with an initial coat of primer and some parts from the read assembly

I left the front and rear sections separated so I can adjust the length so make it look good.

More assembly work done on the rear section.


The top section will remain removable to access all the electronics and battery. This piece with have LEDs in the cutouts and LEDs shining down on the main body.


Here is a pic so you can see the size.

Here is a test piece I cut so I can get an idea of the size of the stock when attached to the cannon.

I got all the pieces for the stock cut and glued on. I normally have all the details finished before gluing them on but since I do not have any reference pics or a plan for this build, I'm gluing all the details on rough sanded and will complete the final sanding when the assembly is complete.

Here is the current WIP pics. I completed the basic shape for the side tri site and got it mounted I also shot a coat of primer to better see how things look together.


Wiring for the tri site and main barrel is complete. The main barrel has a array of 9 LEDs that will be controlled by an Arduino mico board for some cool affects. Sorry no plans for anametrics yet but I have not started any design work on the shoulder mount or tripod mount. I will think about the poss. inclusion of a servo or two.
