POTC Flying Dutchman

My girlfriend, her kid and I just got back from a Disney cruise. One of the stops was a place called Castaway Cay, which is an island that Disney owns in the Bahamas. As we were pulling into dock there for the day the Captain comes over the loud speaker to give us general useless info but he mentions that the Flying Dutchman used in the filming of the new POTC movie was parked in the bay. Very cool.

I only had a point and shoot craptastic camera with me but it was better than nothing....

Unfortunately, this was parked in a place you couldn't get to or even swim out near. It would of been REALLY cool if they did a boat tour out near this thing. :)

Thats really cool wonder where the Black Pearl is docked....

I'm not sure about the Black Pearl's whereabouts, but the Interceptor from POTC:TBP can be found here.

Very cool find, even if it's only a camerphone shot :)

How was the disney cruise?

Can't speak for his cruise but. I was on a Disney Cruise 4 years ago with the family and it was terrific.
If you are looking for gambling, it's not the cruise for you. family oriented but has some nice clubs for adults and some solid talent. I loved the live shows. Food was Disney quality through and through.

Liked it so much we are using 3 years worth of Disney Vacation Club points to take a 7 nighter in 2007

least interesting was Castaway Cay. Fun place to play in the ocean but desolate as all get out.

The cruise was very cool. As was mentioned earlier, definately family orientated and no gambling to be had. Lots of adult stuff to do on board though. Several bars/clubs, live shows nightly, comedians, musicians and what not. Movies running nearly all day in the theater on board, great food, lots to do on shore when you are in port. The best thing is they keep the kids busy from sun up till 1 AM so if you want some time alone with your significant other you should be able to get it.

I liked Castaway Cay myself but it porobably had something to do with the feeding stingrays and getting to snorkle with them which was VERY cool in my book. :thumbsup

Actually I did eat duck one night and venison another while on the cruise. :lol

I was on the Lady Washington/Interceptor once, very cool to be on what is truly a ship. Not a boat, not a ferry, but the kind of vessel that makes you say ARRRRRRRG. I want one :)
