So I just went to the store and bought poster board. What exactly are my next steps? I've only ever used cardboard and I was advised to try poster board

I think my only advice is to have fun with it dude.

@Made007 I dont think cripledpredator is trying to use resin on his bio, I think hes just building it out of poster board.

Oh if that the case, my bad

since you are just experimenting, go ahead and get some fiberglass resin.  it's cheap and very accessible. also make sure you get a good respirator.  if you plan on doing this kind of stuff and want to expand into the other resins and chemicals used in prop making, you don't want to skimp on a respirator.

you can also use some bondo to help smooth out the bio.

sorry i don't have any pdfs of bios.  but they are out there.

I posted in your other thread to try "card stock". its much thicker than posterboard.
posterboard is very useful for making templates. you may find it too thin for building however.

cardboard has a few issues. it folds at the points of corrugation. as you can see from the gallery pics you posted. its just what cardboard does.
the other issue is you rarely get anything to full soak into cardboard. there will be the paper inside that is simply still paper.

if you try the card stock, and masking tape, you can get incredible curvatures and layering the masking tape will give additional thickness.

fiberglass resin is nasty stuff but can be used to coat the project. it is affordable. around 10-15 at Wal-Mart in auto section. be sure to get the liquid resin. And get a mask.
mix up small cups worth and brush it onto your creation outside. it runs and drips and takes awhile to cure sometimes. so I would practice with it.

ive had good luck with 2 part epoxy. A large 2 bottle set is at hobby lobby. a little more expensive than fiberglass resin. not nasty and you can use your finger to work it into the masking tape.
the masking tape and card stock will soak it all in and youll have a hard part.
I made a whole custom Bio helmet this way.

gotta try different techniques and see what you do well with,.

Im almost 18 so my mom is kinda not wanting to help get the materials needed. I believe she thinks im too old for it. And also last time she got me clay, it was wax based

So everyone, check this out, im also a vocalist for nearly 5 years. I scream, growl, and sing. Now this type of vocalization called "inhales" has led me to the realization that I can actually make the predators clicking sounds without the use of editing. A raw, real, and like predator vocalization! How awesome is that?
