This was the costume I made for Halloween 2012 after seeing TDKR.
The chest is vinyl drawer liner, which was a last minute replacement for the foam I was originally gonna use, hence the lopsided-ness
The suit itself was just a black sweatshirt duct taped to black sweatpants covered in a whole lot of duct tape, the cape was cut from a large sheet of fabric, the cowl was a regular Rubies cowl, and a toy utility belt.

For ACen 2013 the suit got quite an upgrade. Here I am being very non-batman and playing on a playground:

And here I am exhausted after a block party:

The mask, cape, and belt are the same, but the suit itself has been replaced with motocross armor and gloves, Funtasma Gotham boots, and very thick snow pants.
I got very, very, very hot in the suit.

Coolfunkcurly, JesterFX, ReevzFX all make 89 cowls. Never dealt with the other two (though I hear good things!) But I've been working with Jester now for over a year putting my stuff together, his work is great. Pic is of Jester's 89 cowl. I bought it second hand at a steal. 1622222_10153912217730105_854691187_n.jpg

Hey indianabric...your suit is a great start man! ...great use of resources my friend. it's about the journey and learning from the magnitude of talent on these boards...keep up the great work man!

To Kolin: (sorry If i suck to hard at using forums)
Im sure many sellers have great cowls but unfortunately I'm a lower class man :<
Unless I can find one for 25 or cheaper Its pretty much a no go, all my costumes are either custom or Frankenstein'd.
Is there any feasible way to create one with every day tools?

btw related to my Frankenstein of a batsuit (pretty lulz worthy, missing my favorite keaton emblem in this shot.) 1383264842361.jpg

The only real good thing ive created is a gold'ish copper bike chain utility belt.

My daughter and I at Free Comic Day...I have posted before, but my suit is a little different. My daughter is doing Robin in a Stephanie Brown style. My boots are home made 89 style...not screen accurate but in the spirit..lol..I'm not pleased with them yet..so if anyone has a lead on some shin guard/spat....let me know! Oh, The Joker was a fan that came in costume!
