that's what I thought, it's neat and all, but I don't even display it, so I thought someone here might want it, but no one really cares to buy it, which reminds me it's about time to drop some of the prices on that thread.

(Sorry that I had to post the link, it wouldn't let me upload the same pictures here.)

nice collection. im debating with buying some cels. i like to collect original ninja turtle art and some other comic works. but cels have always been cool to me as well!

Great collection! I love the Kiki cel especially!

I used to work as a librarian at the University of Virginia, in the rare books department. The building I worked in was an older building with a newer addition, and the connection between the two was a long boring hallway that somebody before my time decided to decorate with animation cels from a collection that had been donated to the library in the 1950's. They were Disney cels, mostly from Fantasia and Snow White, including three -- THREE -- of Snow and all seven dwarves. They had no idea what was hanging on their walls. I happened to mention to my department head one afternoon that I was surprised to see something so valuable just hanging on the walls, and he was stunned. At least one of the Snow White cels was later appraised at $10,000 -- and this was in 1985. Those suckers came down off the walls and into a vault faster than you could say, "Walt Disney is cryogenically frozen."

Sorry for the sidetrack, but this thread made me think of those times.

Cool stuff everybody!

My cel collection at the moment consists of these two. I can think of loads of shows I'd love to have cels from and might someday--Robotech, Aeon Flux, and especially Ren & Stimpy. I'm a big fan of Fairly Oddparents and it set me back less than $10 for the pair so I figure it's a nice cheap start.

The two are layered and are from this scene:

I'd like to make a background then get them framed up to recreate the scene. I've been dorking around with photoshop but my ignorance has gotten the better of me up 'til now.

There was a really nice example of Mr. DNA from Jurassic Park on Ebay the other day. The thing sold for over $150 too! Too rich for my blood but it was really cool.

Oh man, that Batman: TAS cel is awesome.

I really want to get into cel collecting, but I just don't have the money. I've always wanted some classic Simpsons cels. :cry

Only thing I have is from the Real Ghostbusters, of Ecto 1 tearing around a corner on a street. It's pretty complete, having the street and background and car itself.

What's the best way to frame these up? I'd like to get mine done so I can hang it up.

The best way is to have a mat for the frame. What I do is lay the transparent layer (s), back ground, and then sketch to keep it safe.
