So, I made a post in yon Costuming forum (http://www.therpf.com/index.php?showtopic=120624), and somebody suggested that I re-post the request here in the Prop area, to catch the attention of a user who might be able to help me out.

If'n you didn't hit that link there, what I'm looking for is the magic belt buckle used by Pootie Tang in the movie of the same name.

Apparently someone around here was once trying to make one, and I'm trying to find 'em, as well as anyone else who might be interested in getting their own. Any help would be great, even a closer-up screenshot.

Wadatah my brothers.
Sadatay. That would be sweet. You'd never wear another belt buckle in your life.Anyone fancy trying it out?

I was told that somebody, in the past, tried making one...I'm hoping he/she will give us a hand.

Man, Pootie rocks.

The base for the buckle looks like a late 70's (Pacifica/Aucoin) brand buckle. The ones that were used for rock group merchandising, etc.

I've got an old Kiss buckle that is identical in shape. Same boarder, too. It's the inlay that would be difficult.
Someone would have to want the buckle rather bad to jump in deep enough to pull off a good one.

I've seen a few attempts here and there but nothing professional looking.

I've seen people do custom buckles for bands and use the base buckles mentioned above for rather nice results. All they do is print off the artwork and seal it on the buckle's oval for that ever so 'groovy' 70's look.

In the case of the Pootie buckle, the details wouldn't be in relief but it would make for a nice, quick and dirty replica.

Here's a pic of a Pacifica brand buckle. (Not mine) but just something to give you a general idea of what I'm talking about.

Y'know, if the inlay turned out to be too hard, I'd probably be satisfied with a sealed-printed version. Any idea if they make blank versions of this kind of buckle?
