POLAR LIGHTS new movie ENTERPRISE

Ahhhhh...Pactra.I know those paints. They are formulated/intended for painting Lexan/Polycarbonate RC bodies, but I guess they can be used for most anything? If memory serves, they have a stronmg solvent in them made for really *biting* into the lexan plastic as most things don't adhere well I guess?I didn't know they still made those paints.

And for that reason they'll often attack styrene and craze. So test em first and don't be surprised if you have to treat them like a real hot lacquer which might need a good "barrier" coat first.

I remember waaaaaay back in the 60s when Pactra enamel paints were just about the only thing available for styrene kits (in my neck of the woods, anyway).

I'm sticking with acrylics and within the last couple of years I've been able to find some really cool pearlescent acrylic inks(which are more or less, paint).Daler Downey makes a line of transparent, shimmering, iridescent inks(the colors flip/flop),Schminke also has a few as well as the largest pallet of colors I've found made by Dr.PH.Martin's.What makes these acrylic inks so great? They are all formulated for airbrushing with a little thinning&airbrush medium...they should gon one super smooth. Some are pricey, but depending on whether you want a "stand up" paint job or not on your Enterprise, there are few other alternatives for us in the hobby unless you have access to some kick A%$#!@#$% automotive paints.

I'm not buying that size comparison. I saw the movie again the other day and to me based on the bridge size and location the shio looks to be about the same size as the original TOS Enterprise.

Will

the new version was intended to be about the same size as the original version, but after it had been designed someone decided the internal sets would not fit in a 300 meter ship so increased it, no-one knows how big it actually is, sizes have been quoted between 305 meters and 1,000 meters the most widely agreed size is around 750 meters

Polar Lights reps were at WONDERFEST here in Louisville, KY this weekend, they had a box printed up with NEW MOVIE ENTERPRISE model on it!

They said it will be out next year and that it might be out in larger scale or smaller scale (12-inches or so) or BOTH.

The new re-release of Motion Pic Enterprise looked AMAZING! Too big a model for me to display, but for those that love this ship, it looks great -- plus new version will come with Aztec DECALS -- they looked fantastic on the display piece they had. They also had out build-up of upcoming SPOCK kit and the AURORA Batmobile. This is going to be a great year for modelers!

They seem to say a lot of things...... Have they put this out yet? Weren't they going to put out a 350 Akira....??? Where's that 350 TOS E? LOL!
