Podrace Fan's Macrobinoculars research

I was just checking the inside of ' The Visual Dictionary of Star Wars Episode I ' on Amazon and I noticed this fantastic looking Macrobinoculars used by a Podracer fan. It's on one of the first pages of the book. Perhaps someone can scan it.
I've never seen this before and I was wondering if someone has any pictures of it. Or perhaps help identifying the parts used for this prop.
Any help is appreciated :).

I'm at work right now but I have that book. I'll try and dig it up when I get home if nobody else can help.

I feel like I want to turn everything into some sort of macrobinoc now, it's craziness.

This is the best I can do at the moment.

Got this image on Amazon.com

I'll find my visual dictionary and take a good scan as soon as I get a chance.

Those are some bad @$$ binocs.

Which Chronicles book are you talking about Hobo Wan? The " Star Wars Chronicles: The Prequels " by Stephan Sansweet?

Is it possible you make a hi-res scan of the one in the middle?
That way it's a little easier to identify some parts.

I remember some people suspected the body of that prop was a toner cartridge. No one ever ID'ed it though.

The prequel props are harder to ID because they used more industrial scrap and less off the shelf type items.
A lot of parts came from Bob's Bits.

I was under the impression that end is where one would look through, and the "bearings" are the lenses. Dunno for sure, though.

There are definitely a few socket head cap screws there.....
