Hey gang,

the Smooth-on 121 urethane rubber stuff - amber colored - is it okay to use if casting from a resin master? It's the only thing my local hobby shop carries, and I'm wanting to cast a plastic-card part I've made that has some resin elements, too - would hate for the resin to bond with the rubber.

Anyone use this amber-colored stuff before? I am used to the green and blue silicon-based rubbers.

Thanks.

Urethane rubber will bond with almost everything, lots of mold release needed... It's a cheap alternative to silicone molds in small runs and with the use of lots of release...

From what i understand its mainly used for plaster castings or cement castings. It will need releasing agents for resins though ;)

Cyb.
