Dan isn't a member so cannot post, i am posting this on his behalf

"I have no idea who you are or why you're suddenly spamming every forum with this. Maybe you should try actually emailing me or PMing me on the Lair like a normal person would. In case you missed it, I have been offline for months (It's been posted many times on my site and on the forums). However should you continue to act like an ******, I'll completely ignore you. Once again I have no idea who you are or what sale you are talking about. The only P2 helmet I have is from Art Gonzalez, and as of yet, it's not sold. I doubt out of the hundreds of sales I've done through my site this year that I decided to rip you and only you off. And if you threaten me personally one more time, I will be calling Interpol and have them deal with you."

Thanks
Dan

Don't know anything about this guy, but Dan could use a little more tact in his customer service.

And if I were Dan I don't think it would be too hard to figure out who it was considering you know the date, amount and method of payment. If you keep any kind of records at all or even if you just go to paypal you can view every transaction. Then figure out what or who is at fault and correct the situation.

Me thinks, Dan needs to simply check his Paypal records... The guy posted a date, a time and even an amount with the payment email address... Takes about 1 minute to pull up those records on your Paypal account with that much detail...

And while he is at it sign up here, registration is open so he can address the issues himself instead of by proxy...

I might add that he (dan) may need to run a report of his PP history and give the range if it's been over 3 months. The regular system won't show it.

You don't need to run a report...

Just need to click the "payment received" link and punch in the posted date, maybe give it a buffer of a day or two each way for possible time zone difference... I just double checked and I was able to easily pull payments dating back nearly 10 years, with full details...

This Dan gives my name a bad name. Calling a betrayed customer an ****** is classic projection, disinformation, obfuscation, & demonization.

Hey everyone... this is the Dan in question and I signed up so I could respond to the thread as people seem to be jumping to conclusions and don't really know what's happening. First off, I run Predator Costumes, Models, Kits and Collectibles – Predator Stuff! and sell to hundreds of collectors, do reviews, and generally have a blast with collectors, especially with garage kits and stuff. I am very well known on a bunch of forums, I own the hunters lair and I have tons of clients that can vouch for me business wise.

OK so all that aside, let me explain this situation. Completely out of the blue, this person without contacting me about his order at all, spammed every single forum I use with this post you see above, spammed my email threatening to kill me, my mother and then spammed the same threats about killing me and will "ruin me" in about 50 different articles under the comments area on Predatorstuff.com. So with all due respect to you guys, I think I am more than justified to defend myself and be curt with someone who thinks this kind of behavior is appropriate. Further, I had no idea who this person was as in all the spam he sent, he just used swearwords as his name.

Shortly after all this happened and my post had been added here by another member on my behalf, I figured out who the person was.. it's actually someone I thought was a friend and he sculpts and produced a couple of Predator busts I had sold for him. Needless to say I am very upset that he did this, especially considering he even has my MSN and could have just contacted any time to ask me.

This morning I checked in to his order and was able to find it and I do still have his helmet that he bought, which was packed from my divorce move (I am going through a divorce and had to move etc...). So I will be sending that off on Monday for him.

No question I ****ed up and forgot to ship his helmet, that's my fault and I have no problem admitting that. Hey I've bought from folks from this forum and many others that have done the same thing, I fired off an email asking if it had gone out, they said sorry I didn't get to it and a week later out it went. No big deal... This guy says absolutely nothing and then months later comes screaming out the gate and is saying he's going to kill me and my family? I'm sorry but no friggin way is that acceptable and in no way to I have to be polite at that point.

Ask any of my clients and they will tell you that I go above and beyond to make things right and I always do my best to take care of them when things go wrong. I ship hundreds of items a year and things do go wrong occasionally, that's life... but I'll be damned if I'm going to accept someone harassing me this way when a simple email to me would have been sufficient and you guys can judge all you like, but I won't cater to anyone who feels physical threats and harassment is a justified solution for a friggin helmet, especially without ANY form of resolution prior to said behavior.

I've been meaning to join this forum for a long time now, it's a shame it had to be over a hot-headed individual that had to make a simple situation in to a circus.

Take care,
Dan

great job telling your side and fessing up to a problem in shipping, everyone makes mistakes and running a site like that i'm sure there are bound to be slip-ups . Glad to see it working out , hopefully .

and Welcome to the replica prop forum.

Agreed, there are always appropriate steps to take before escalation to threats against the family and/or public shame. Thank you for posting your side of the story - really illustrates the fact that even when something appears cut and dried it rarely ever is.

Welcome to the RPF, I won't hold this against ya and doubt too many others will either. :)

so are you saying an escalation to threats against family over a missing package is ok? :confused

that is something that is in no way appropriate.... threats against someones family...thats just absurd and there is no reason at all that a situation like this should ever lead to that..

Don't be daft. Of course threats against a family are never okay, and that wasn't the intention of my statement. :rolleyes
