So.....I am working a second version of my pink Star wars wookiee mask. I cast it in smooth cast 65d because I use it so much and travel with it a lot. I want to be ably to punch in hair around the eyes, nose, and mouth. I need to create a layer of latex of silicone in just those areas/ Does anyone have any creative ideas on how to do this or has anyone tried this before? Laying the hair on the plastic will be easy but getting those fine around the eyes, mouth and nose area I would like that detailed look of punching...help.... IMG_0233.JPG

I would brush up silicone to your desired thickness (thicker where you're punching) into the mold you cast this from, placing some gauze in the last layer to help it hold onto the 65D, which I would slush behind it. Yes, that's sort of starting over.

The thing is, you need some thickness to the silicone so your punching needle has enough space to bury the hair, especially if the core is rigid, as yours is. That means you'd have to build up enough that it would change the shape notably if you were to apply it to the mask you've already cast.

...at least that's how I see it.
