PETG for Gilgamesh FFXV query

Heya, I'm trying to stretch my armor-making skills by adding clear petg pieces to an incredibly decorative build: Gilgamesh from FFXV!

Since I have enough motor-balance difficulty already, I want to have all hands on deck (or, at least out of being tucked into my breastplate), I have decided do his missing arm all magic-like, as in these shots of his second form courtesy of maty-yami on tumblr/twitter (forgive the Ardyn insert mod)

I will have pastel/rainbow chainmail underneath, with transparent holographic vinyl for the "leather" strapping, and wanted the plate armor to be clear PETG.

My group has used PETG before for small, smooth/rounded projects, like lenses for weird headgear, or glow/fire effects, so I know the basics. This armor though...this armor is Detail Hell, where on top of having extra layers and rivets, every plate has different designs deeper than simple engraving. I'm afraid to try to use a soldering iron or dremmel for the deeper designs, since I don't want to burn or chew through it.

I was wondering if anyone has had any luck heat-gunning or vacu-forming clear PETG with a plaster mold or alginate? Since the arm pieces are mostly similar to eachother, I could easily make alginate negatives of the right arm pieces (or plaster positives of those, since alginate breaks down quickly and brush-on silicone is expensive)? Or are these too fragile/will leave debris in the PETG/something else negative that I haven't thought of?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may have!
