Pepakura ?

I depends on what you wanna do, the problem with pepakura is that you only can change the Hight and width and depth of the farthest away piece. Thats makes it harder to scale.

Another thing: using hot glue was too thick, so the glue interfered with later folds/connections. Will CA work on cardstock?

Yeah see that's what has put me off looking into it further i can't be faffed with having to work out scales and stuff, mainly cos i'm stoopid with computers. :lol
If it was just a simple download file, printout fullsize A4 or something i'd probably be able to manage that.

How do you make the helmets bigger or smaller ? My son said a friend of his in college made an oversize head of himself for Halloween and it was about four times the size of his own. Said it looked really cool. Is there tutorials over at the 405th ?

Would you not just print it @ 400% ?

This is how pepakura changes size

It calculates the Hight ,width and depth from the farthest away object, So that is why it can be a pain in the behind to scale lets say a spiked helmet.

Can I get the card stock from Walmart or ?? I am now a member a the 405th and will look around there also . Thanks.

Yes Walmart sells it in packs of 150 sheets for $10 or less I think.
It's in the regular printer paper section.

Ok stupid question being a noob and all. If I were to just print out a set of halo or iron man armor I got on the 405th would it be good to go or do I have to scale it?

You need to scale it because the size could be WAY bigger than what you want. Also you might not be the same "fit" as all the parts. The first halo pepakura file that came out was scaled in Master chiefs size and he is a BIG DUDE. It not hard to scale, just read the stickys on 405th forum.

Pepakura Helmets are very interessted and I am looking for anyone who can made 3D files for me that I can print out via pepakura. I am not an computer expert and can´t work with 3D programs. Anyone here who can made a 3D helmet file for me?

It depends what you want - download the free pepakura program and google for pep files.

There are loads of free files and a ton of Halo helmets online.

Also google skips pepakura - he sells files quite cheap :)

I just recently used the Pepakura Viewer Program which is free to print out and assemble a Master Chief Costume for my son for Halloween. The Viewer Program will not let you change the size of the files to be printed. I scaled the files down to my sons height and weight using the scaling function on my printer.

Another thing to be careful about is if you attempt to print out the file and you dont have the exact paper size it was created on it will ask you if you want to rescale for printing. Be careful. I found out the hard way that not all the pages of a file I printed out scaled the same way. The result was a helmet which did not go together properly and I did not know why until I figured it out later.

I guess I will have to buy the Designer Version of Pepakura and see what options it has that does not come on the free viewer program.

I have bought several of his files and can tell you that his work is good and he is quick in responding to requests for purchases. However he will only take payment thru PayPal.

you dont need to BUY the designer version to be able to change the object size and paper size. You can do that with the version you download but if you wanna SAVE the changes into the file then you need the payed version.
