Pathfinder Pulse Carbine - First Looks

Here's a few shots of the not yet completed Pathfinder Pulse Carbine I've been working on lately. I'm at a bit of a standstill as to what else it may need. Things like a weapon safety, magazine release etc. I don't have a problem with adding them but I'm wondering if the Tau would have need of them or if the safety would be an integrated function of the helmet the wielder uses, able to turn it off or on at a thought.

Anyhow, I'm tossing around ideas in my own head, and I'd like some outside feedback on what you guys think it might still need.

I apologize for the black line in the first picture, it it a circle I was using as a camera path and forgot to remove it.

So please, comments are more than welcome so I can finish this beast!

Maybe I should label every topic I post "Iron Man MK4 Helmet Build" so I'd get some actual responses.

It's from a game, Warhammer 40K. The Tau are one of the playable races in both the tabletop version and the PC game Dawn of War (Dark Crusade expansion). Hope that helps clear the air of where it came from.

Cool project. I have always liked Tau wargear, and this would look great as a full scale prop.
As far as I can remember from the actual miniatures, I don't think they had safety or mag releases and such. But the carbine might get a bit boring in full scale without them.

Reference picture from GW for those who don't know what we are talking about.

Hence my dilemma Ejector, it's a should I shouldn't I type of situation, I guess I could do up one that has them on there to see how it would look.

I for one can't wait!!! If you make multiples let us know.
Though I am more a chaos marine type of guy, tau weapons
Are preety cool.

Well, I'd say it rests on your personal tastes. Although if you were to take the miniature and enlarge it, it would be pretty slim on the details. I say add a bit to spruce it up!

I'm leaning towards that same thought myself, already begun a bit with the additional spots for lenses and electronics in the front of the scope section, but some additional fields would make things really "pop" on a finished full scale replica.
