Past and Present Costumes!

Did you have an all-time favorite costume you had when you were little, that you vowed to remake when you started costuming?

Let's see those past and present pics!

Though I'm sorry for those that can't unsee myself as wee Dorothy McChubbs ><!! My mom spent alot of time and effort on this costume. She made me the Ruby Red slippers herself, by getting a white pair of Payless pumps and spray painting them with glitter red paint, and adding the bow. I wore those things around until I grew out of them!

Well, I haven't taken the time to put together a new version yet, (mainly because I haven't been looking for/found any good boots) but here's an ANH Luke I put together back in high school.

This is a brilliant idea and I wish that I had photos of costumes from when I was a kid!!!! I started thinking back and realized that I don't think my mom ever really took photos or has photos of me in costume during halloween lol. Not to mention I always went as some weird original design costume. I was always elaborate but never anything from something like a movie or tv show. I think the closest I have would be when I was about 18 and made my first gown (moulin rouge red dress) and I desperately want to remake it with sturdy satin so it has more volume. I'll have to post that some time in the future when I remake the dress lol!!!

zxsaint, that's so awesome!! And It's alright Risu, that's still really cool!

Eveningarwen, I bet the gown was beautiful anyway, being you have so much talent! I made Arwen's RotK Requiem dress as my first real sewing project, when I was 19 ><! It was 3 sizes too big and made out of a weird material! LOL I knew nothing back them :p!

I love this since I actually have some old polaroids of me :lol My brother was Mickey Mouse, honestly I'm Fett ;)

My first attempt at Boba Fett:

OMG! Amazing! And do you have it on a stand with a "Star Wars" type wall behind it?
Thanks...I do have the costume on a mannequin & stand. I built the entire bedroom into a Death Star themed room with all of my costumes in there. It was an unused room so the space isn't missed.

I don't have any photos from my childhood costuming, but I still remember my mother made a Luke ROTJ costume for me using a fabric pattern and when we lived in Germany she made a Superman costume for me that looked a lot like the one zxsaint has when he was a kid. I find the Mickey Mouse and Boba Fett costumes nice though it's like looking back in the future at what Rubies probably started off with.

Wow, this was a great suggestion... to bad I don't have anything to post myself. I can't wait to see the posts in the coming months. So far I am blown away by the Boba Fett and that Dorothy is also very well done. In fact, you kind of look a lot like her sitting on that fence.
