PAINTING QUESTION

I am trying a practice run before I work on something nice. I have a 1977 Don Post Stormtrooper helmet. I am going to keep the same bubble lenses. I dremeled out the eyes and cleaned up some areas. I marked where the frown marks were and cut them out. I removed the stickers, washed the whole helmet, used denaturalized alchol and allowed to dry. I put tqo coats of glose white Krylon fusion spray paint. It looks awesome. Now, I want to use 000 grit steele wool to sand down and put a light white coat on again and then clear coat and then stickers. Does this sound right? What do I use to clean the helmet off with after the sanding?

Thanks for the help.

is steel wool the right thing to use?
I would rather wet sand with a fine grit paper.
Everytime I have used steel wool on a light colored surface I have gotten "metal tracking". You know, like tank treads in your white butt huggers after a friday night with the boys at Taco Bell.

sounds about right, depends on what look your going for, after sanding you can rinse it off with water and rub it down again with alchol.

I guess it depends on the paint, I have never used that Krylon Fusion stuff before so no idea of its texture. I dont want to give you any bad info and make you start over again. Hopefully someone who has done this with that paint will chime in.
