P3 bio (from filming photo)

This might be a bad idea and I don't know if anyone else has had an attempt at it but I'm going to try and sculpt the bio from the behind the scenes photo from new predator film. This seems to be the only photo about at the moment

IV started by enlarging the photo on my computer so that the bio is 330mm in width and then made a tracing of both bios hoping that will approximately be full scale

although is gets very pixelated magnified that much I can still pick out the main features and got these to tracings

and from these Iv tried to work out a front view. it's not perfect but it will give me some sort off scale before I start with the clay.

It will be fun to see how close I can get with limited detail. It could end up a major embarrasment

I got some progress today on the bio. I transferred my tracings to perspex and cut it out

i then filled it with expanding foam

i then carved it down to a rough shape slightly smaller than the finished size

I gave it a few coats of spray to seal it

I then microwaved some clay to make it soft and covered it in a thin layer all over

i should now have a good base to start adding more clay and to then start sculpting

IV had to put this on hold for the past couple of weeks but IV got some basic face features done, I need to get some good screen captures from the trailer to start adjusting the proportions

Thanks I'm not sure if I'm keen on the style of the bio. Also I might be wrong but the trailer looks like there are red lights in the cheeks, has anyone an opinion about this

The sculpt is looking pretty accurate thus far ... Though I feel like I'd do my own version ... I've seen it said before and I completely agree imo it looks like a squished Vader helmet :/

I'm cool with the "cheek lights" lol as long as it's not the tri-laser ... then I'd be disappointed ... once again lol

From what I read on facebook studio adi didn't make the "hard parts" of the costumes ...

I read that alliance studios are involved and with there connection to Stan Winston studio it could be them making the hard parts

Got a bit more shaping done,im slowly tweaking bits untill the proportions improve. I probably need to flatten the dome a bit more or exstend it out

Yeah, a little flatter among the center should do it. But interest you've also noticed the mega-dome lol

Got a few more tweeks to the face done, it's slowly getting in to proportion. Once IV got the rim around the dome done I can start on the details

Alliance wasn’t involved to my knowledge. Quantum Creation FX made the hard parts.

You could be right , I only read about alliance from this article.I dought if we will know who done what until after the film comes out (that's if anyone wants to admit responsibility )
