Our Star Trek party rooms

Every year, during the Fourth of July weekend at Convergence, for the past four years, the local Star Trek club here in the Twin Cities set up two adjoining hotel rooms for a Star Trek Expereience in Minnesota. Each year we had updated the rooms by adding more details. This will be our fifth year doing this (I've always said it would be a five year mission), and we are still going strong.

Here are some images of past convention parties-

So if any of you happen to be in the Twin Cities during the Fouth of July weekend, come on by and say hello.

Wow, that looks like a lot of material to haul around and assemble/disassemble each year! I didn't see any hotel furniture, do you get the hotel to clear a couple of rooms?

Yes, it is a lot. We need to rent a U-Haul truck to haul the panels, beams, desk, bar, agony booth, transporter and other stuff we had built out of the pole barn we store it in to bring down to the hotel. The only thing we have the hotel remove for us are the beds. Two big chairs are relocated by us to where they can be used. All the other remaining furniture we manage to hide in one of the bathrooms. We sorta startled the hotel staff the first year when we transformed the rooms the way we did, but after they saw how we returned the room they it was, they now look forward to seeing us there.

VERY cool! :)

I'm just not sure about the tan lines on the Elder Kirk... :lol

Dan

I don't blame you. I got a good sunburn that year when we were building this stuff. I've also been saying this is my version of Kirk during "The Deadly Years".:lol

Extremely well done. Especially considering the amount of dedication, time, money and effort that goes into this. I applaud your effort.
The end result is impressive.
