Opinions on Muscle Suit Options available?

Could anyone be so kind as to give their views and/or personal experience with the (in my case LEAN) muscle suit options out there? There are the flex designs suits (Brandon). These look great. I have heard/read that they are not washable in the traditional way, at least. This is due to the glue and way the suit is assembled/made? I have read that they do not "breathe well" during use. All this can lead to the suit smelling, especially after a couple or three days of daily wear (Cons, etc.). Are they hotter (temp) than other options? But they do look great.

There are other suits with washable options, where the muscles can be removed, as they are in pockets. So then these are easier to clean/smelling clean. But, via pictures they don't quite look "as good" in one sense, than the flex design variety. It seems the prices are reasonably comparable.

Any thoughts? Thanks so much for your imput!

I actually own one of the Fles Design Giant muscle suits. It is very stearn to fit on, even when it is made to order. However, the leaner the suit, the easier the fit. But as far as wearing it for 2 to 3 days at a con, well any suit will start to have moisture issues and breathability. But if you did buy one of the NON - Flex design suits, and wearing it under another apparel it would not show the difference, but if you are set on the FD one, you can take it off after a few hours of use then spray lightly with the Refresheners spray, internally and externally let if hang or dry for about an hour then put it back on. I would not recommend trying to stay in the suits(either one) for more than a few hours at a time. neither have a great ventilation, and they do not have alot of options for bathroom breaks either. Just saying. Good luck.

Thanks for your kindly sharing your wisdom, calibr. I am definitely looking a "lean" version of whatever I get. I don't want it to look unnatural (really want those to wonder at least at 1st whether I am in one or if it's me...lol), esp. since I am doing characters that don't require a super buff look like Wolverine, Hulk or Deadpool, etc.

I am already broad shouldered and have some muscle up top, but my legs are way too thin. My problem is that if I hit a Con and am just staying for the day, I may not have a lot of choice about wearing it for the day...ugh.

Any additional thoughts are welcome. What characters did you wear yours with?

Well, to be perfectly honest I have been wrking on this costume for a few years now. It is Eric Powell's GOON. I even have aSPFX custom made scarred mask. The hands though is what has been stumping me. I would consider looking on eby for the lean, or go with Brandons Flex Design. But I think either one will work since you are wearing something over the leg section. Just my take though.
