Old Western Six Shooter

Old Mr Magic

New Member
I'm looking for an old style/western/cavalry long-barrel (12+ inches) six shooter that I can modify. I've been scouring the internet for a while now with no luck.

If it could come with a wooden/faux wood handle it would be MOST benificial.

THANKS!

Can't get any more classic than the Peacemaker. You want the Bruntline special 12 inch barrel I suppose?

Anything bigger and you move on to bicycle rifles and revolving rifles instead of revolvers.

Just an FYI, the official name for the Colt Peacemaker (which is also a legit name) is the Colt Single Action Army (Colt SAA for sort). The companies who make replicas (other than Colt) have to use different terminology to avoid copyright infingement. For example, my fully functional Uberti replica is called an 1873 Cattleman.

Righto, but everytime I think Colt Army my mind drifts to the Colt Navy and I go off on a cap and ball tangent.:lol

Denix Replica Pistols

Scroll down a little past halfway down the page, you can pick up a metal and wood denix replica for about $60. I've ordered from them before. I have a colt navy, and a quickdraw army, and a cavalry model, among others.

These folks have some of the best prices on denix replicas on the net.

EDIT: apologies, I misread your post. I thought you wanted something you could turn into a buntline.

What's your price range?

I've done some digging on these in the past, cheap models are all over the internet. You'll have to pay up a bit for a higher end replica (what else is new :lol)

Do a search on Single Action Army, I'm sure some other threads will have good info

Dang, thought that you were going for the promo art version.

The hunting revolver and Sequoia were based on kind of a mashup between the Magnum Research BFR in .45-70 and the Old Model Ruger Blackhawk in .44 mag but with an old old style hex barrel on the front.

They use .45-70 in the game which is weird because the cylinder is too small for that on the model.

I guess for the price you're looking for you won't find a metal replica. You could try just sourcing your frankenparts on Gunbroker. No FFL transfers for parts and some parts you need are dirt cheap, so why not get the real deal?

Oh and an old school Blackhawk just because I love that style.

All the revolvers below have functional moving parts but won't fire bullets.

For $70 there's the 1860 Civil War Revolver Replica.

Also a Denix M1861 Navy Issue Brass Revolver looks mad-hot for $67 (although it's not Mal or Jayne's gun, I think this would easily turn into a Firefly style pistol, just add a laser and a optical site!)

A Lemat is about $80 to $90

All this Ruger talk and I forgot my own baby!

I'm gonna make the gun I need from scratch, but i'll use my Ruger: Super Redhawk as a model.
