Ok, dumb question...

Apart from the part coming up on Junkyard here, or rare occasion finding only the base on Ebay, where might I find a Graflex 3-cell base?

Either original or a close reproduction?

TIA

Tim

Blind luck. There have been a few members fortunate enough to find one at a yard sale, or flea market from time to time. Even better, they purchased it for a great low price. Other than that, keep checking the Junkyard or maybe start a WTB thread in the Junkyard to generate some leads for you:thumbsup

Thanks! Was worried it would be a bit of blind luck on finding the part. Right now, my light sabre is "stubby" with the 2-cell base. :lol

Just wasn't sure if there were some good reproduction bases readily available through a supplier.

Seller 1ober1 "King of Parts" sometimes has a nice repro graflex bottom halves in his ebay shop. And I did see a 3 cell bottom base yesterday on the Evil-of-bay from another seller...

Hmm, I must have missed (or not very well advertised?) that base. I was searching last night, only came across complete Graflex units. I'll take a look again.

I picked one up from the king of parts a while back. He didn't have one listed but I messaged him and he sent one along.

It would be mildly interesting to know the disposition of all the Graflexes ever made...

--What percentage have been permanently lost or destroyed?
--What percentage have been snatched up by SW Geeks?
--What percentage still exist floating around in random locations?

Of course, you would have to be omniscient to know this... :unsure

Some place used to sell a salt shaker (I think that's what it was...) that fits perfectly. That's what I have on one of mine. It looks just like the original metal. :lol

I don't know what his "REP" is here at RPF but I have found if you call him (Jeff Parks) and talk to him personally...he can be very helpful.

On the other hand, if you write into his web-site through his "service" link and ask for anything too particuler...it's been my experience that you get ignored.
His help just isn't that great.

What happened with me was I came across some Graflex "Parts" for sale and picked them up (not the two or three cell handle)
Then I called Jeff and asked if I could buy the stuff I didn't have to finish it out for a ANH Luke Saber. Jeff suggested I send him the parts to look at so I did. In the end he gave me a deal on a NEW ANH Saber and it saved me a lot of money...of course I still have the pieces of the Graflex sitting around staring at me but you get the idea.:)

Thanks! Never thought of calling/speaking direct as such. Was looking via usual websites for what they had available/listed and wasn't seeing what I needed.
