OGAWA'S BATMAN COWL REVIEW
I work part-time as an entertainer for children parties. Some of the common roles I play are Spider-Man, Batman, Jake the Pirate, Power Ranger, etc..
When it comes to playing Batman, I need a better mask than the one I currently use (A Rubie's mask I believe). In my search for an excellent cost effective mask for my purpose, I've come about the Ogawa's Dark Knight Batman mask:

The circumference of my head is about 22.5" and this mask fits me fairly well:

I was quite impressed when I opened the package. Nice solid color, ears help up very well, and coming folded out of the package it was able to expand into a good firm cowl with a decent shape.
I will keep this mask and I would love to use it right away for the children to enjoy a better Batman. I am unable to use this mask right away because of a few problems. I hope you talented folks can help me out with this cowl, if you'd be so kind.
HELP NEEDED
Paint
The paint easily flakes off of this mask. The mask is made out of 100% natural latex and it dosen't seem to have made use of any primer:

What can I do to preserve the paint on this mask?
What options do I have if I need to have the paint redone?
Please note that I do not have any experience with paint (except face painting Batman symbols and whatnot).
Eye Holes
The eyes are very small, and borderline creppy for my purpose of using this mask. I plan on cutting holes around the eyes, first around the eyelids, and if needed the entire eye; it all depends what I feel would look better.

Is there a specific method I should use to prevent any damage to the mask? I plan on using a pocket knife to cut the eyeholes.
If you anyone would like any more information on the mask, I'd be happy to answer!
I'd appreciate any help you awesome folks can give me!
