Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

It's stupid that we have two words so similar that mean the same thing. Nothing new I supposed. Peace brother.
 
I'm just glad I could get one for my son. If the shipping issue wouldn't have happened I seriously think I would be asking those who bought several for help. Not saying there aren't people willing to sell them at retail but it would just delay the delivery that much more. Based on past information Matty is hell when it comes to getting something. This was no different during the first 3 hours that a lot of stuff has sold out within. I'm also glad that the price is somewhat low compared to what specialty houses (MR Sideshow etc) would probably have charged for the same piece. I know it will still need modified for those wanting uber movie accuracy but it is a great starter piece for those who have made PKE's out of other things because they couldn't justify spending around the $500 mark on a kit.

I personally would just like to thank Micdavis publicly for his help in (hopefully) getting myself a PKE meter. If he has made a couple of dollars from his work then that's fine by me, after all I wouldn't be getting One.......

I didn't realize that Mattel told everybody attending comic-con how many PKE's they were manufacturing! I feel really ignorant now. Sorry, all.

If I had known how many units they had in the proverbial bank, I would never have bothered coming on with tips on how to beat the white screen or otherwise feeding the frenzy. I apologize to you all.

I'm also very, very glad that everyone who wanted a PKE got one, even the overseas members thanks to the generosity of the members here. You folks are terrific. I was only able to do it for four others, and it was very nice to see so many stepping up to help out. This is a hell of a community.
 
It's gone. Can't wait to take this around everywhere, there are a few good haunted places here in Richmond, VA to go ghost hunting.
 
funny that ALL of their products are "sold-out", they probably just took it all down until their next big sale, "sold out" for now.

They are a collectors site and don't do continuous runs and offerings, that is how they operate every item sold out is the norm... Over the years they generally have not brought back items unless they tweaked them with a new paint job or what not...

That isn't to say the PKE would re-emerge but at this point it's a 50/50 gamble at best...

And the prices on eBay will likely jump 2 fold in the next few weeks...
 
I just remembered something. I've got to give Mattel Toys more credit here because looking at the features of this PKE meter, they could have easily made this one have the Ghostbusters 1 setting and released another one with the Ghostbusters 2 setting. Sure, it may seem like a minute detail, but considering that Diamond Selects Toys releases so many variants of their Trek merchandise, it was certainly in the realm of plausibility.

And btw, some of Diamond Selects' variants are pretty cool.

According to Merrium Webster.com the shorter version has been around longer. Just as an FYI. (I was bored and looked it up.)

But on topic: How many are being made? I haven't seen a number yet.

I been watching them for the past couple of days...they seem to be going for about $85-90 (average), but those are the first ones to sell which are usually higher than the second batch of people trying to sell. Im sure the ones listed this week would sell less.....after ebay fees...paypal fees....and shipping it and hopefully not losing money on that...their profit isnt really worth the hassle
