Official Ghostbusters PKE Meter Prop

Just got two off the website. Funny.

I just might sell the two I bought off a ebay to an international buyer if they want them. I got two.

I just ordered one. Had completely forgotten that today was the day until I logged on and saw the thread. I'm surprised they still had them.

WOW....all this mad rush to buy this prop this morning and all one would have had to do is wait til later...pranced online and ordered what they wanted in 5 mins instead of these 60 - 90 min waits this morning that I saw everyone going thru. I just checked online and they are still available. Who would have known??

Placed an order for 2 and got it done in like 3 minutes time. The question is do they actually have that many or did they let us keep placing orders well past the limited number?

^I really dont think there is a limit number...if there is then it will be like 10,000 haha...I thought there wasnt a limit number for the ghostuster items and just releasing them in waves, but exoray gave a great explanation for it.

or maybe Matty is changing their ways...

Well, that's the problem with Mattel. You just never know. I have seen some of their stuff sell out in, quite literally, minutes -- leaving those of us still stuck in the White Screen out of luck. Other times, like with the PKE, their items last well beyond expectations. This time they appear to have done things right and had enough stock to last the day. Other times, like with their DC Lobo figure, not so much. Lobo was a figure that was long awaited by Justice League collectors and he was gone in a couple of hours. And as for the Masters of the Universe figures -- many have gone in under ten minutes.

It all depends on how much of a supply Mattel has, and they keep that information a closely guarded secret. If they would hold inventory for you while you were waiting to check out instead of slamming the door in your face at the last second, the collector's anxiety would be a non-issue.

I presume they'd manufactured the item in a quantity to fulfill the world-wide demand, but then at the last minute found out that they could only ship in the US and a couple of other countries, hence there still being some left.

That is my guess as well, I'm guessing 20-30% of the production would be allotted for the EU, block the EU sales and you instantly have overstock...

Are some of you considering canceling your bulk orders?

I bought a few extras, hoping I could re-sell them enough to make my money back for my own PKE purchase.

Since the PKEs won't ship out until the 12th, are any of you considering calling them and say, "hey, I don't want these many, anymore. Just this one"?

With supply meeting demand, I don't see making that much extra money on the extras, so why bother...unless it is too soon to tell.

Except the PKE meter (and Cyber Monday) MattyCollector has its new items go on sale on the 15th of the month. However, it begins to ship subscription products out a few days earlier. I am guessing that the PKE meter shipping will be handled at the same time the Club Eternia December figure is shipped so as to reduce cost.

I must be cool too as I ordered this morning and it took two minutes. :lol

I feel TERRIBLE for the scalpers who planned to sell these for $300. Yup, Just awful...

Funny story:

I wanted a ULTIMATE Buzz Lightyear for Christmas...I couldn't find them at any of the local Target stores. (The programmable one that has "Spanish mode", dances, and the flip-up com.) Target.com was sold out.

I looked on eBay and sure-enough...the scalpers are selling them for $250 to $300. I thought...crap.

My wife calls me this morning and says "I found one at Target. It is $129...I picked it up for you."

Thanks honey!

BITE ME, SCALPERS!!! :lol

I'm still impressed by the price of this item. I'm really hoping that they release a trap before halloween 2011...
