Small update...

Besides of refinishing my new Webley, I decided to recover my old Kenner toys from my parents house and "do something" with these, instead of letting them just rot away.
Here´s the small setup in my basement I just built for it. Shelve order is not final and I definately have to get some kind of display for my figures and make a plexiglass front cover.

Anyway, much better than NOT having these toys in my house, right!? :cool
(and yes, I intentionally left some blank spot for new toys to come

)

That´s cool :cool - i see quite some stuff i had as a child, but sold years ago when i was in a mood of no longer wanting to move that "toys" from one place to another.

Don't get too excited Mark, my collection is limited to ONE room only (my small office) and the toys-cabinet is displayed in the basement. Had to redo the whole room on behalf of my wife, build some storage shelves, paint, lay new floor etc. just to be able to set up this cabinet, a win win scenario for both of us :lol

I really like it! Every time I see someone's display I kick myself. When I was 10 I decided I was too old for my SW toys and gave them to a neighbor... This is one case where I would go back in time and kick my younger self. :lol

oh how I wish I'd kept all my toys from when I was a kid. I only have my B wing left from that time unfortunately. Everything else was re-bought or from the 90's to now.

Here are some pics of my new Webley after some cleaning and spot-reblueing the very few worn areas...a real beauty for a 100 year old item!
Still thinking about replacing the heavily worn shoulder stock, as this does not match the overall appearance. What do you think?

if I ever finish the parts for the exhaust venturi based Jawa blaster, then another kit will be offered.

but I have to sell, well actually MAKE some Schermuly kits first to tecoup some of my investment

Dude... keep that stock! It's original. Mine's pretty worn as well, but it just has too much character to not keep it.

Thanks, the most mess was on the inside of the barrel.
Took me about 2 liters of professional degreaser, a few disposeable brushes and two rolls of papel towel to remove that stuff completely.
After that I gave it some wipes with acetone to prepare for blueing. Used birhwoods superblue, which did not do much to the finish but helped to blend some spots nicely.
put on some gun oil after that, but had problems with rust. So I repeated the acetone treatment, used some WD40 and a nice coat of wax

Now, I didn't want to touch my own Webley, but your result is so beautiful that I will look into it myself. Thanks for the pictures and explanations of the process you followed.

Heat up the metal before applying the blueing compound with a cotton pad. Rub the gun with 000 steel wool to work the blueing compound into the surface. Clean, check the results and repeat until you received the desired results.
