Hey Clutch...back from vacation and motivated to build again
Did you ever finish the Nostromo pistol???
I have mine in the works, as well as the Supertrooper blaster...other projects on the backburner due to missing parts.
My Webley is STILL at the gunsmith, waiting for its deactivation
I hoped to have it by now, but the shop is still waiting for his licence to work with flareguns (THANKS to german bureaucracy).

I JUST got notification, that my Webley No1 MK1 will be deactivated THIS week
The gunsmith FINALLY received his licence for deactivating flareguns and large-bore rifles.
If all goes well, I can pick up this beauty early next week...sooo excited !!!
Also had the chance to work on a non-SW item...a Nostromo pistol, based on Morganthirteens great Rexims.
Currently I´m figuering out a way to add/ weather the decals. Any advice on this?

Here´s my current WIP for your viewing pleasures
A NON-StarWars related project, the ReximFavor based Nostromo pistol from Alien.
Based on Shawns fabulous resin V.3 Rexim cast, real coned SP and a -close enough- 4x20 rifle scope.
As you can see there´s still some work left to do, such as:
- adding the grip-screws
- adding the decals
- addtl. weathering
Don´t have the muzzle-tip atm, will add it once I receive it from Shawn.
BTW: Any idea how to archieve the worn look on the lettering? Do I apply the mint decals first and weather these OR would you recommend to weather first and apply then? Haven´t worked with decals before

That's pretty cool! I've been thinking about getting a cast from him, but I've had bad luck with resin guns in the past. Do you have a pic of how the lettering looks? You usually just knick up the decal while it's on the sheet with an Xacto blade. It depends on what effect you need though.

Here are some pics of the real deal (just realized how much different the of mine looks in the pic I took with flash...it´s pretty close in reality)
As you can see the lettering on the prop is badly worn and I don´t know if I can transfer the decals if I do all the weathering while still on the sheet?
But I am also afraid to scratch up the paintjob when trying to weather AFTER application to the gun :cry

Ok I searched around a little on Finescale Modeler magazine's forum and there seems to be a few methods. I've never done this, only read about it, so if you have spare decals I'd try it on them first. The first method is to apply the decal like normal and let it completely dry. Then you go in and lightly scratch away parts of the decal. The second is to lightly scratch it while it's still on the sheet, but you have to just scrape off the ink layer without damaging the carrier film (clear part) or the decal will float into pieces when it hits water. The third is to apply the decal to the model and then apply a softening solvent (like Micro-Sol or Solvaset. They soften the decal to let it conform to curves, panel lines, etc.) and pick at it then. You would probably get a more expert answer asking this in the general modeling forum though. :lol

Got one of the last needed parts to start my new, improved ESB EE-3 based on
- real Webley
- real MPP
- real ASI
- real splitplugs
- real V8 pushrods
- real nylon connectors
- resin mounting-blocks, "discs" and stock squares
Will be fun
As you´ll see the barrel had to be milled during deactivation Will have to decide whether I simply leave it that way or fill up this area somehow...
Next in line is my new RO72, this time the correct vintage model with the threaded shaft at the rear for a shoulder stock and the logo on the left gripshell Will replace the Jabba guard blaster V.2 and start a -final- V.3 soon :thumbsup

Even if being from the UK, these seem to be much more common in the states than here in europe!
I found three in about nine years, which were available in either the UK or germany. could not let this one go, even if it cost me a kidney, blood and tears :lol
Now I only have to make sure that I will be able to finish my big projects before my son is born ( in early october ) :rolleyes

I haven't seen any here yet! Congrats on your son! (or early congratulations I guess? :lol) I help take care of my nephew (10) and niece (6) so that's partly why I can't get anything done!

Small update...
I am still waiting for parts to proceed with
- my Aliens Smartgun and all metal PR
- my last ROTJ DL44
- my Luke and Han Bespin blasters
- ...(and quite a few other, partially non blaster related projects)
I decided to work on some other items
1.
I redid my Jabba guard blaster once more, making it the V.3. But this time I used the correct model of the RO72 with the threaded end, markings on grip-shells etc.
2.
While still waiting for some new -more accurate- mounts from sidewinder, I also started to work on my real Webley, converting it into an ESB EE-3 (sold my bronze cast Webley to a RPF member in the UK, but the empty display space was starting to annoy me :lol). Filled up the milled area under the barrel (part of the deactivation), prepped a real MPP flastube and painted the stock squares (awaiting detailing) and real splitplugs.
3.
Redid my Hoth blaster rifle, also making it the V.3.
First one was built on a diecast STGW44, second on a resin cast of a real/ SHoei hybrid (MUCH more crisp details and closer to the real deal), third one will be based on a Denix STGW44. While this will be less accurate (the SU rifles were fibreglass and resin), I decided to convert the Denix anyway, just for the coolness factor
Awaiting final assambly on upcoming weekend!
4.
Made a template to cut the backplate for the death star detention block camera. This will be cut from 3mm aluminum...
No time to take pics, but will do asap...was just excited to share while I am still motivated
