OdiWan72´s prop family

Ok, thanks. I thought maybe I wasn't paying attention and missed a bunch of info. Is that pulley the same one from the record player they used?

20 years ago my dad had a real functional Mauser and was selling it to focus mostly on U.S. Civil War weapons and he asked me if I wanted it. I couldn't see using it and potentially messing it up! There's probably a lot of them, but still.

The prop dept. didn´t cannibalize any record players, but simply purchased a sh*tload of parts from Transcriptor back the days. So they had pulley discs, knobs, sweeparm parts én masse

The pulley disc on the MS blaster is nearly identical to the ones found on imperial hats , belts, ANH DH17 etc., but has a smaller O.D. IIRC

what buttons have a center portion like that? I've been searching aircraft control panels for other prop parts and feel like ive seen them

So did they machine a smaller one for that gun to copy the style, or is it from a completely different turntable?

Likely a part for another turntable. Transcriptors made several “space age” turntables back in the day, the Hydraulic Reference being one of them (also built by J A Michell).
Transcriptors was also periodically “on call” along with the inhouse machine shop at the studio for any special pieces so I guess it could have been custom made after all.

Finally able to present a new family member :)

Already have/ had a real NEMROD based Bespin security guard blaster, but always felt the urge to upgrade it. Well...I didn´t upgrade, but replace it with a completely new build :)

Based on a real NEMROD with correct markings and as many real parts as I could get. Thanks kurtyboy / Sidewinder for the gears and accurate muzzle!

Applied only slight weathering by adding a wash similar to the reference pics of the "hero" blaster.

The wash you used for weathering is very subtle but looks awesome. It doesn’t appear to be a wash at all but like the blaster has seen use and time.

Thanks gentlemen....it was fun, even if it took way longer than expected :/

The missing resin details were 3D modeled by me and printed by my friend Eelco Senger from 3DpropsNL.
If you need any kind of lightweight blaster for costuming/ trooping, he is your one-stop shopping source...constantly expanding and improving his portfolio!

What CHris vdB for the ambitioned prop builder/ collector (offering high end metal parts), is Eelco for the ambitioned costumers out there! Plus...he´s in Europe, so no import fees for us oversea SW nerds :lol

Love all of their work!

Very jealous and congrats! the 'transition' area on the BP seems to have been smoothed out and lost some details, but nevertheless very clean and minty!

Have not looked at this thread in a long while. That was a fascinating read! Great stuff!

I don't exactly remember, what was that calculator you just got used for?
