Anyone able to identify the binocular base seen in the trailer? Seems like a found part possibly a range finder.

I remember having a toy of those back in the prequel era. Were the Jedi binoculars Obi-Wan carried in the prequels based on a found part?

I was looking at these too not sure if these caps are better. I noticed a gear/cog greeble on the right, on the left is a cross shaped selector like on a Nintendo controller, has me wondering if it’s a part from an old electronic game like sub hunter? the piece on the left side looks like a socket from an old car bulb or a hose compression fitting. Not sure on the blue light, could be one of these appliance switches.

The Disneyland ones are very flimsy from what the reviews said, but it's very close to what Obi is using in the trailer. Easily beefed up and accurized.

Yep, they came with the electronic probe droid set for Maul I believe. But it was a small (kid sized) and static piece?
I’m going to be honest, I don’t remember the scale. I do remember they just had clear lenses so you could see through them, and I remember that they were all black molded plastic. No painted details at all

I have one of those gear sets in storage somewhere. The binocs are larger in scale than the ones seen in the new trailer. The screen used ones are slimmer and look better imo. That's not to say that the gear set ones couldn't work with some mods, but they are bigger.

The one from the Attack of the Clones role play set were child size. I have it somewhere.

The one from GE looks more true to size. If interested it is 6” at the widest point. Not saying it is accurate to the screen used one or if they were able to 100% copy the original to the series. I do know the people on the show do a lot of research for things like this. Anyhow, if you want to see some better images of the GE toy, here they are…

Looks proportionally chunky. If the width is correct then it looks too tall.
