No more buying MR lightsabers?

It's too bad that the MR sabers are made in China. That's another reason I like to buy from saber makers, in order to support the US economy directly. Wouldn't it be nice if the next prop company actually produced them in the US? What a novel idea. Also, the custom made sabers are unique, unlike the MR sabers which are just spit out of some machine.

It would be fantastic is they were made in the USA. That, however, is very unlikely to happen. The costs would be insane as the companies wouldn't want to sacrifice one penny of the profits they make by having things manufactured much more cheaply over seas.

There have been runs here in the US with members that have been quite economical. Don't be too sure on that, you will be surprised at what can be done here in the US.

The only reason these members can keep it economical is because they don't have to pay insane licensing fees to uncle George. Also because most of the time its a labor of love.

I did a couple of runs and I know how much things cost. I barely came out even most of the time.

Also, when a prop is unlicensed and don't come with glossy certificates or display case, people will still say its expensive even if you offered it to them at cost.

I'll second and third that sentiment!

That and members aren't running a business with employees, offices, warehouses, advertising and everything else.
