Nightwing TDK templates version

Not a work in progress but wanted to share.... :)

Found the templates from - HERE - . I suggest using the abs as a guideline and making the cuts straight instead of following the templates. I modified the blades because I want them Nightwingy.... There is velro on the right side on the back so I can slip on the chest piece. I used my basketball court foam and plasti-dip for the paint. Then bought a roll of blue and black carbon fiber vinyl. Then I just hot glued body pieces directly to the suit.

Hopefully it helps some people....If you have any questions please ask.... I like foam.... :thumbsup

This looks great man! There's not enough good Nightwing Cosplays out there. I'm working on a NW costume myself, albeit comic style, but I really like the direction you went with this!

BTW, I had the same idea for the belt, but couldn't find a decent one for cheap. Which belt is that from Amazon, I can only find the rubber ones.

Very cool. Everything comes together very nicely. I really like the carbon fiber addition. It makes the costume look sharp. This will be an inspiration for many. ;) Thanks for sharing.

Here is the belt (I am pretty sure) - The reviews I read on the Rubies Adult belt say that it is injection molded plastic with pivoting sections that can be separated and moved around or removed and added to if you want to by a second belt. The belt has an adjustable velcro closure which one review said it snags on his costume. So it may require some modifications. This is the least expensive one I saw on Amazon:

Thanks! It is cool to throw these types of projects together quick for a convention. The downside is the cost....The boots and wet suit alone on this cost more than any of my other foam projects I've made. :D

This looks really good! I like that you put your own twist on the suit. I am also working on a Nightwing suit since there aren't many floating around and I'm too short to fill a dark knight suit lol.

Thanks for the link Darkside, I'll mod the back of that belt.

Also, Durkness have you thought of making the shoulder armour the same blue as the symbol? I think that might look cool, and give it the overall V shape of Nightwings costume.

This is PHENOMENAL! I've been seriously considering doing a female Nightwing modification, and I think seeing this might actually convince me to do it. Had you done a lot of foam work before this construction?

I actually tried to wrap the vinyl around the bells and failed at it. I kept bunching up because it was one piece going around a round shape.... there are two strips I kept going up it. Unfortunately I don't have any plans to work on it for a while....I could update it to the red version from Injustice also.

I had two other foam costumes I tried before this one. But, I started my first foam build in August of 2012 with the 1/2" Harbor Freight foam....and then found the amazing 6mm foam and have ran with it since. So it's only been 8 months trying foam.... The templates are really easy on this one. It's mostly 2D so not complicated at all.

i really don't understand something. I tried to download the templates..... but they wont open in pepakura. im really pissed off because I was counting on finishing this thing before Halloween :(

As long as they are the .pdo files you should be fine. You didn't try to open the total .rar file did you? If it's straight off of JF's thread, that was were I got them but they have to be the pdo files for pepakura to be able to open them.

Was the wetsuit hot to walk around in? Awesome job btw
