Nightwing injustice

Hey I'm new to the site but been doing costuming for several years now and wanted to do something a lot more chalenging than I'm used to, and after playing Injsutice, Nightwing's blue costume has just been screaming at me to create. Anyway my query is does anyone know what material/how to alter a material to give the textured look his body suit has (only thing I have com e across is a thin quilted material, but am a bit unsure of this :confused. Also his more rubbery looking armour sections, can anyone point me in a direction of what material to use and how to work it? Thanks in advance.

So after some research and talking with persons, the options have been narrowed down to printing onto a stretch fabric, using polyurethane onto a material to provie texture (by syringing on lines of it) or trying to find a textured fabric with some stretch and tailoring it exactly to my body, has anyhone tried any of the first 2 approaches? If so how did these turn out, any tips to improve chances of success, or any helpful guides you can point me to?
