Here's a nice collage of Han's ROTJ blaster commonly known as the Stembridge version (thanks Ham). Also known to some as The King of Blasters. ;)

Full size HD version here

A couple of things I've never noticed before:
  • There appears to be no lanyard attachment at all
  • The scope tip appears to have a single slot and not a grid
Compare these details to the more commonly known Han ROTJ like this one recently auctioned:

Here's the Stembridge that was auctioned recently:

Great pics, man!

I believe the Stembridge version was used in those scenes(hence no lanyard).

After spending months working on my ROTJ blaster and finally getting it finished, it's become one of my favorite blasters too. Those scenes were ones I would freeze on the DVD while trying to see details on the gun. I almost put the brass tip and the dark hex screw (on the flash hider) on mine, but went with the standard painted tip and the silver screw.

I've edited the post/picutre to reflect the fact that this is the Stembridge version.

So, any ideas what the scope tip might be? Surely a found part?

Yes, I too see just a slot.

Could be anything- maybe a piece of metal that was by the side of the curb.

As with the SW:ANH Kenobi lightsaber,
perhaps this detail will be found- given enough time.

And thanks for the photo-montage of clear images.

I was pretty sure there was no lanyard ring. Mine has been like that for some time. I never added the grid. Though the slot sounds interesting.

Astonishing this detail hasen't been discovered before.
Hail HD!

Good eye, kurtyboy ! :thumbsup

As the scopes on the ROTJ E-11 are almost identical to the one used on Solo's blasters, I'd guess at some point they may have had the slot detail on the tip too. I was looking at ref. pics of the scope tips on the E-11 that goes on exhibit tours, and it looks to as if it were cross hatched to allow glue better adhesion to whatever the slotted brass piece was. Also, does anybody else think the coin edged part just before the brass piece looks like the same type of pointed knob used on Luke's V2 lightsaber?
Perhaps all the scopes had the brass slotted piece at some point? Are there any other HD pics floating about which could support this? Anybody?
