Hey,
This might be "old" news by now, but I got an e-mail from
http://www.predatorstuff.com/ (Predator Stuff website) and he may have some of these kits left. I read and then watched his review of the kit (Another Wolf). Instead of selling them for over $200 he is selling them for about $50 because the castings were so bad. It has been a very long time since I bought a great kit like Dan said this should have been.
It is really sad because someone (HellPainter?) spent the time to create something fans like us really want but something went wrong. I am sure there are expensive special tools (vacuum chamber?) that could have been used to make better casting, but, of course, I am no expert on the topic.
I've been trying to work on my Narin AVP Diorama (purchased from England awhile back). The castings were so bad, I have spent a lot of time with the Dremel tool. Now I will have to resculpt the detail back in just like what Dan was describing.
After hearing Dan's comments about the superior castings he sells, I am tempted to order a Narin AVP Diorama from him and use mine for kit bashing. (Now if I can just convince my wife...)
Dan, if you read this, I need to get any future kits directly from you. Less preparation time (sanding/Dremel/putty/etc.) sounds great considering how much time I have to spend at work.
HellPainter, if you read this, don’t get discouraged. Learn from this experience. It sounds like there was a communication breakdown also. Perhaps someone else can make the castings for you. You are incredibly talented but you may need to delegate other tasks as necessary.
