I think the sculpt is spot on to the way he looked in the film, but the paint job on the prototype sucks.

The rest of it might be wrong, but the portrait was actually done by one of the best likeness sculptors in the biz, Trevor Grove. You have to see it without paint to appreciate it. Here's a link to it on his deviant art page. http://trev-solo.deviantart.com/art/Old-Man-Jones-117995394

Over the years I've drawn Harrison countless times for Lucasfilm both from the old series and also from Skull and I'm interested to read the comments here. Personally I think that Trev's sculpt is about as perfect as you can make Indy but the kicker here (as people have mentioned) is the paint job - its in my opinion just bad..

Part of the problem is that seeing Harrison older is something few people are comfortable with because we like remembering him as he was in the original trilogy.

If I had a choice I would acquire a copy of the original sculpt and leave it grey. I don't see any need to to have it painted - especially because I don't believe the paint artist has the same passion as Trevor has for the subject ...

Now that I see what Trev did with the unpainted version, I agree. Trev is an amazing sculptor and he deserves MUCH admiration! I don't really like the pose they chose for him either. He looks like his back is hurting him.

Damn...

stop making indy figures, statues and all the other crap...

This merchandise flood is absolutely terrible... Sorry, but... I hate it... just think about to order the sideshow indy or the premium figure, but then I saw it, and with the words of Henry Jones Sr. : "Let it got... "

That face sculpt looks right seeing it without paint and Trev is a MASTER sculptor - hell, he's the same guy who sculpted the Raiders version, so I don't get your complaints. Go look at pictures of Ford as he looked in that movie... he looked old and disgruntled and absent, exactly like the sculpt shows.

And sorry... for scaled sculpts you gotta go to the clubhouse to browse the talent there. I use the RPF for 1:1 stuff.

Is he catching his breath or taking a poop?
Wait let me rephrase that:
Is he catching his old man breath or taking a poop in his ****ing pants that are up to his old man neck?

Face it. He's old. The first movie was almost 30 years ago. Chew on that shocker and see if it don't make one feel old.

Having to live with Calista Flockhart is surely a life sucker as well, that's good for an additional 20.

Laffo.

It's just a poor paint job. If you take the time to watch the 360 video of the statue, you see that it looks decent depending on the angles, meaning the sculpt is certainly there...

Its a very good sculpt but to me the left eyes abit out... maybe the eyes are a bit wide appart. If that was right and bit more depth in that area I'd then think it would be perfect.

Holy crap in a fedora.....:eek
That's a bigger atrocity than the "Promised" general Obi-Wan Vs the delivered one.
Paint too thick, too light, whatever it is. Just looks off.

Damn, he DOES look like F Murray Abraham.

Makes sense that it doesnt look like him. I watched Kingdom of the Crystal skull and Indy wasnt even in it! Just some buffoon in Indy's clothes who was doing a very poor impression of a once great character.:sick So this statue is perfect!

I think the portrait without paint looks pretty good. But there is something wrong about the pose that looks unnatural. Combine that with the "taking a poop" expression and it really doesn't come together.

Very well said. I didn't even know they made a 3rd Indy movie. The only ones I have ever heard of are "Raiders of the Lost Ark" & "The Last Crusade".
