Hi everyone,

Haven't been around here for a while but wanted to show some pics of the AMAZING repaint that "boot25" from sideshowcollectors.com has done on the exclusive Indiana Jones Premium Format statue for me.

First came the hatless head:

Next came the hatted version (which is the one I'll be displaying on the statue 99% of the time)

I could always see that Trevor Grove's head sculpt for this statue was one of the best Ford likenesses ever captured, but these repaints by "boot25" have really made the portrait shine in all its glory!

Just some final tweaks are being done to the hatted head (extra "sand" weathering to the Fedora) and some adjustments to the eyebrows. I'll post pics of the final version installed on the statue as soon as I receive it).

Wow. That's got to be some of the best skin texture I've ever seen.

Re: Amazing Raiders Indy PF repaint!

Yep, incredible sculpt and fantastic paint job!

Re: Amazing Raiders Indy PF repaint!

Does this guy also painting life size busts? I have a friend who works on perfect lifesize Indy.

Re: Amazing Raiders Indy PF repaint!

Boot25 specialises in 1:6 and 1:4 scale repaints. I've not seen him attempt any lifesize busts. If your friend is working on a perfect lifesize Indy anyway, why do you need to know? :lol

Re: Amazing Raiders Indy PF repaint!

Because he is making the head sculpt only;) But if he only makes small sized heads then i have to look for another painter.

Amazing.
I paint figures and have a few Euro Militaire awards, this would be in for a best of show I am sure

Re: Amazing Raiders Indy PF repaint!

Hi guys,

I received the PHENOMENALLY good hatted Indy PF head from boot25 yesterday. I can't put into words how happy I am with this and wanted to show a few pics of the head proudly reunited with the statue.
Thanks boot25 for your amazing work on this.

Looks really fantastic. :thumbsup
Hey Chris, do you think you could ask your friend if he would be able to paint a lifesize cast or if he is interested in painting one?

Thats amazing.I always wanted to pick one of these up but now if I do I`m only going to be dissapointed.Oh well.

Even though I decided to get a replacement holster, gunbelt and repainted heads for the statue - I've got to say that the "out of the box" statue is still very nice and unlike the Cinemaquette version, you don't need to look at it in certain lighting conditions before you see the likeness. Trevor Grove captured the most perfect Harrison Ford likeness to date with this head sculpt in my opinion and this PF blows the Cinemaquette out of the water when it comes to "Raiders Indy".

Cheers,

Chris

Gra - boot25 wrote on another forum about the medium he uses. It's a combination of acrylics and oils.

Cool thanks for letting me know that. Yeah the cinemaquette was a let down especially for something so expensive.
